Digimon vs Pokemon

Digimon fist series = Awesome. I never realised it was any good until the repeats started, so I missed many episodes...

Pokemon was a good idea, but the program was pretty bad.

Not a big fan of pokemon anymore and I never kinda liked diginmon XD but pokemon was more popular than digimon =P

well the reasons behind that is that pokemon already had a multi-million company behind it and all digimon had was banhai (did I spell that right?) anyways you all understand what I mean right?

I think you meant "In Pokemon..." Iunno, it would just seem odd that you say Digimon names are complex, then say they are a lack of creativity.

Yeah, I did mean to say Pokemon, as for Demikids, it was released on GBA in the US. Though Devil Children Black book and Red Book for GBC werenot released outside Japan.

But yes, it is GBA, and has quite a bunch of interesting mythical beasties, only not as big and ugly as they appear in the more mature level counterpart.

I prefer Digimon (specially the first one) than pokemon. Pokemon is a really false program. I have a list of 150 reasons of why pokemon is trash(not that i hate it, but it's true). At least in digimon they have regular schools, and in pokemon the only schools they have teach attacks and that stuff. How can they have books and all that stuff if they don't even learn to write and read?
The pokemon centers cure the pokemons, but is there any hospital for humans?
In the game, there was a graveyard tower for pokemons, but what happened to the humans?
If the team rocket want to steal Pikachu, why don't they get a pistol and kill him?
Who would ride a burning horse?
Since when the fish transform in octopuses when they grow?
didn't the evolution happen in thousand of years, as Darwin said?
Haven't you noticed that, in some episodes, Broock have a lot of big kitchen utensils, but his bag is smaller than them?
the names are becoming more stupid as more pokemon appear. Compare Pikachu(original) with Meditite(stupid)
Why would elephants, rocks, cats and dogs come from eggs?
They are mutants when they evold. Machoke get 2 more arms, a fish evolves to an octopus, Doduo gets another head, etc.
No one makes stronger and bigger by eating candies or being touched with a rock.

Well, I have more reasons than that ones, but I'm not posting them. they are 150, but in spanish.

In other words, I prefer digimon.

Digimon is since long GONE still they sell the spoils of the Digimon fan season.. IT only took like 1 year for it to die in sweden... mainly cuz it s***ed and it was a 100% copy of Pokemon...
the reason that they don't go in a "normal" school is cuz they are not on the planet E-A-R-T-H... they are on the isle Kanto (can't belive I remembered that)
Pokemons comes from eggs cuz they are pokemons, not animals...

I have problems about the pokemon too. The first 150 were no problem, the others 100 were not much, but when other 100 appeares I wanted to kill the creator! In order to get all pokemons you need to buy ALL the games of GB/C/A. Isn't that annoying? Btw, my brother read on a magazine(don't know if it's true) that digimon released something, can't remember what) and that pokemon appeared after that. And about the reason of being a manga, I already said that pokemon had many weird things, so I made the list. I know that in mangas everything is posible, I'm just comparing it with real life. Like this: Who would take a wild animal without knowing if it is sick?
Isn't it illegal transport of animals if you capture one in a place and go to another one without it? Or exchanging a Mewtwo to a newer game?
And who would name his son Ash? Is that what her mother want him to end?
What happened to his father?
What do the parents of the trainers let them leave their house when they have 10 years while in real life some won't leave until they have more than 25 years?
Why would Ash go with the first person he met (Broock, Misty, the photographer, the new ones, Tracy or however he is called(i call him crazy)) without knowing if he is a drug seller or a criminal?
Are they blind? the team rocket, let's say, James. He puts only a mustache(for example) and Ash don't know who he is. Or Jessie, or however it is spelled. She puts a costume and they don't know who is her, even if she doen's hide her face or the exagerated hair?

Remember, just comparing with real life, and my list is much longer than this.

i got more enjoyment from playing the pokemon games (whats with the digimon game where everything craps all over the place, then there is one that eats it  ) however the collecting pokemon got VERY tedious. as for the anime/manga its digimon all the way, better story, and all of the 50 other things that have been mentioned before.

I hate to say this...but the answer to this question is as follows: Both suck badly because the dubbers did a bad job on dubbing! Has anyone seen Episode 13 of Digimon Season 2? I saw it in both English and Japanese (with subtitles). Let me tell you, Saban took out every line of the show and replaced it with their own lines. Not a SINGLE LINE was the same.

Also, has anyone seen a Japanese episode of anything that 4KIDS has done? I hear they cut up Pokémon horribly. I saw a new anime that 4KIDS has released, which is called Mew Mew Power. I LOVED the show, but I'll never watch it again, not after seeing the Japanese Tokyo Mew Mew. The names are different, the plots are different, and ALL the lines are different.

Needless to say, I would take a Japanese sub of a show anyday, rather then watch an English dub. Too bad Full Metal Alchemist got dubbed by Funimation, and none of the others did. Seriously, has anyone seen how well Funimation does on their anime? I LOVED the Funimation episodes of FMA! They are ALMOST EXACTLY the way they are in Japanese. They even got the voices almost the same!

Anyway...that's beside the point...to say it plain and clear...ENGLISH DUBS STINK!!! But...if I HAD to pick one of these shows done by English Dub, the answer would DEFINETELY be Digimon. -notes that 4KIDS chopped up all the Pokémon movies as well-

EDIT: I forgot to say one thing. Out of all the Digimon Seasons, I liked Frontier the best. All you English Dub watchers would only know it as "Digimon Season 4"...unless someone told you its real name o.o

I LOVED the turning humans into Digimon thing. Ever since I started watching Digimon, I had ALWAYS hoped they would do something like that, because I liked that idea. When I saw Frontier, I fell head over heels. I LOVED that season the best. However...I don't want to see Digimon Colliseum (sp?) AKA Season 5. The X Digimont hing was cool in the Digimon X-Evolution movie...but it's stupid in the series v.v

Yeah, right, man, I agree! I thought 150 was cool, but then there was 250...now there's freakin' 386! They added WAY too many! I was talking with my buddy just the other day, in fact! It was funny! Here's our conversation:

Me: You know...what are they going to do now? They have 386 Pokémon. What's next? A Pokémon game with 500 Pokémon where you have to catch 'em all?
Buddy: If they make a game like that, I'm not going to be happy. I mean, you have to catch 500 Pokémon? That would stink!
Me: I agree...I hope Pokémon dies during it's Advanced Challenge season.

Also, THEY GOT RID OF MISTY!!! I liked Misty...bringing in the dimwad squad (May and Max) was stupid >< THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT MISTY!!!

I never played any of the Digimon games, but I used to watch the show when I was younger. I also watched Poke'mon at about the same time. I can't say I liked either over the other, but I think Digimon had cooler monsters (blackwargreymon was my favorite, even if he was terribly cliche'), while Poke'mon was more... how do I put it, kid-friendly. I'd say they're about the same, it depends on your likes and dislikes.
