The point of making topics sticky (imo) is so that new people and such (like me) can see essential topics such as board directions, etti- (screw, Gary knows my pain) before they are buried in the rest of the topics that arent as important, like the welcome messages. In short, I think its because they take priority over other messages, because they need to be seen. But then again, im new here and my opinion isn't worth beans yet.

Anyway, kicking topics doesn't apply to stickies, as far as I know.
