Idea ONCE again
« on: August 07, 2005, 09:56:37 PM »
Ok once again i cant make up my mind, so this is the latest story i have came with

=.THE GAME.= (not the name :P )

You are a miner on earth. Tries too find new researchable items or orbs or something. When one day you work in the middle of everything, it suddenly collapses and you are one of a very few survivors. Some years later the goverment wants a mining operation on Planet Mars. They contact you (the survivor of the world known incident). Then with a few thinkings you finally go too Mars. There it isnt only mining going on. There are more then that.....

Ok some problems with it

What shall happen on mars... Could it be like monsters that attacks and the main mission is too get away and alive too earth... If i use this example i cant find any LONG playlength, cuz what can i do too make the game long?.. Its a mine and you have too get out. Or shall i make like the game "Red faction" for Ps2 or PC.. That some kind of group that leads the mining stuuf wants the whole thing them selves and by that forces you too work.. And one day the workers comes up with a riot and you sucsessfully punches a guard down and can start fighting your way out.. This example could use monsters aswell...

Tell me how it sounds and what example you like the best

If you can't decide which story to use, then use all of them. Take your favorite parts from each, and edit/alter/add/remove until you're happy.

Its not a bad idea. And shorter games are good too, if you actually work on this game, then you'll be more likely to finish it before moving on to the next one.

Alright, even if you find a better idea, you have to stick with ONE game, coming up with a new idea every few days and wanting to pursue that idea won't accomplish anything. Heres a few tips. When you get an idea, try to find a way to put that into your current game instead of making a new game for it. If you can't stick with a specific plot, think of a general plot, and have it set up were you can make modifications on the fly. When you get a good idea, think it over for a month before giving up on your current idea, sometimes when you play a game, watch a movie, or read a book, you come up with an idea that you think will be gold, but a lot of these thoughts die after a little while.

I've had the plot of my game planned for at least two years now, and I just started working on it a few weeks ago. There were times when I suddenly came up with an idea, but I soon realized that they weren't as good as I thought, and the ones that were really good are now part of my game. Moral of the story, stick with your plot or you won't get anything accomplished.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

this one seems a bit weird, no offense. The character is known for surviving a mining cave in? Come on now there have been thousands of cave ins when mining. Need i mention the panama canal? Thousands of people died and the few that lived weren't world known O.o...

Several things to do before i die:
-be lazy for 70% of the time...wait ive done that.
-Get sucked into computers and pointless t.v shows...wait I've done that too.
-Interpret the meaning of life! Or perhaps cure a terrible disease! Wait wait, journey across the WORLD!...maybe i shouldn't speak the impossible.

Yeah that works, or just watch TV. That's what I did and it gave me a jump start on some ideas for my game.
SO PRAISE THE TELEVISION! :bend:

you obviosly dont get it... There is a huge mine in the beginning andone day it collapses and you are one of a few survivors.. This gets known as somehting huge in the papers and in the world etc.... Then there is some kind of mining plan on Mars and they want the best miner too be there.... Byt anyways you can lock this thread. DragonBlaze have already said what made enough help here.
