*It was a gloomy Wednesday afternoon. The sun was beggining to set, and a sea of colors flooded the sky. On top of a High Tower stood the ever so menacing Emporer Grendas. He sat upright on his throne, surrounded by his Royal guards. He sat there, peering out a window as the breeze brushed by his rough skin.*
Emperor Grendas: *Speaking with the Commander* "How goes the Crimsons advancement?"
Commander: "They are advancing at a steady pace. They should arrive at their encampment in about two days."
Emporer Grendas: "Good. ...Inform me of when they have eradicated those damn rebels." *He signals for the commander to leave."
Commander: *Bows* "Yes, sir."
*600 Miles away, a deserted, destroyed city layed silent. Dust brushed by a fallen building as it picked up sand that smaked against the uneven concrete. Then suddenly, a sign of life appeared beyond a still standing building. A Garudian soldier it was. Tall and skinny, probably around the age of 18. He was carrying a Rifle of unknown origin. He had an eye patch on, which was stained with his blood, as well as few scattered cuts and bruises.
He walked past a small hill, and began to decend down underneath a roof-like structure. Inside were 3 other soldiers, loitering and rustling through items on a table. One soldier, was attaching a scope of some sort onto his Pistol.*
Link: *Snaps the scope onto his pistol* This oughta do it. Good as new.
*Link placed his pistol into his holster which rested on the right side of his waist. He picked up an already lit cigar, brushed back his messy, sweaty hair, and began to head out.*
Soldier with bloody eye patch: Ok Link, you're up.
*Link pats Soldier on the back and heads out to resume the post of watching out for the Emporers guards.*

*Through the dusty winds Link views the land. Small forces of the main army are scattered here and there, nothing new. People searching in a frantic fashion for a few surviors.*
Unknown dude: Anything new?
Lookout: Nothing... just small scouting groups here and there. Same as yesterday.
Still Unknown guy: Well, you heard from the meeting this morning that they would be sending something for us right?
Lookout: Yes, I listen just as close as you do.
Guy: Fair enough, just keep a keen eye on those moutains passes west of the main ruins.... they would most likely come through there.
Lookout: Yeah, I know, I can u..... hey, what is that?

*Non-rhythmic huymming can be heard coming from behind a sand dune.*
Artemis: Little bit o' this, little bit o' that. *Artemis pours different powdered mixtures into one of his plastic capsules.* And to top it off, viola! You, I shall call Susanne. The perfect mixture of black powder and mironite.
*Artemis haphazardly closes the capsule and sprays a sealant around the cap.*
Artemis: Whod'a thought that by adding just a pinch of mironite to this I could take out a concrete foundation?
*The stock of a rifle comes down from nowhere and beans him in the top of his head, causing him to throw the capsule into an old shack. The capsule explodes on contact and destroys the ruin.*
Soldier: ARTEMIS! DAMMIT! You were making an explosive of that caliber in camp!?
Artemis: Heh, seems I added the wrong material from my case. Apparently I bought the red mironite so I wouldn't mistake it for the green lucidite so something like last time wouldn't happen. Heh, I forgot.
Soldier: Artemis, I swear to god, don't mess with those bombs near camp!
*As the soldier walks off, Artemis begins to fiddle with more of his explosive materials muttering under his breath.*

Miles away from the Capital City, the Crimsons were still marching toward the destroyed city. Amongst the hundreds of soldiers, one man was standing out. He was tall with long black hairs, his eyes fiercer than those of a phoenix. It was Carmaine, one of the Emperor's trusted guard.
Soldier: General Fallsmyers!
Carmaine: What is it? I've no time for idle chatters.
Soldier: The Van Guards have reported in. The road, or atleast what is left of it, is clear for the next 200 miles. Not a soul to be found on the roads sir.
Carmaine: Very well. Go back to your post within the ranks.
*The solider left Carmaine's presence*
Carmaine: This is too simple. If no ambush have been detected, they must have planned some closer to whatever outposts they have. Major Ford!
Ford: Yes General!
Carmaine: Dispatch a small unit and take the smaller roads. Have them march quickly, I want to know what is ahead...but be careful: I do not want to be detected by the enemy when we still are so far away.
Ford: Yes, at your command!
Carmaine: Hmph, can't believe the Emperor is sending *ME* of all people all the way in the middle of nowhere.

*Back by the ruined city, a few seconds after the falsely exploded bomb was set off*
Link: *Jerks head towards explosion* "What was that?"
Soldier: *From another post 50 yards away* "Don't worry about it. It was just Artemis again."
Link: *Now calm* "Again? That guy's gonna get us all killed."
*The wind picked up, and changed direction. The speed began to increase, and started to pick up particles of sand. Link had to shield his eyes in order to keep them open.*
Link: *To Soldier* "Wind's pickin' up, eh?"
Soldier: *Shielding eyes too* "Yeah...(nervously) you think it's a storm?"
Link: "Could be...(thinks)...let's head down. Just to be safe."
Soldier: "Okay!"
*Link and the Soldier began to climb down from thier posts stationed in a tower. As Link began climbing down, there was a sudden snap. The rope holding his ladder had snapped, and gave weigh from Links weight and the force of the wind pushing him down. The ladder began to fall backwards. Link, with just a second to think jumped backwards and fell downward, landing onto a tent and made it cave in.*
Soldier: *Runs towards Link* "Are you okay?!"
Link: *Scrambles through the sheets* "Ugh...yeah...I'm fine. Damn...*looks at left arm* I hit my bad arm."
Soldier: "C'mon, we gotta get outa this storm. I'll get you to a doctor."
Link: *Stand up* "Hey, you're lookin' at one."
*And with that, they head underground, and bells begin to sound as the rest of the area is sent underground to wait out the impending Sand Storm.*

*Back to the other lookouts that link isn't at*
Guy (His name is Guy, dur): What, that over there? *Points to the south*
Lookout: Yes.
Guy: *Squits his eyes* That would be a storm cloud.
Lookout: Oh yes, no wonder the wind is picking up.
Guy: *Turns the the lookout* This could be bad for the supply caravan we requested. Their canvas could get blown right off.
Lookout: *Turns to Guy* I never thought of that....
Guy: *Chuckles* That's why you're the private and I'm the sargent!
*Hears bells in the distance*
Guy: That would be the storm warning.
Lookout: Should we get some help for the caravan?
Guy: *Puts his hands over his face* I'm not sure.....

*Far away from the said city, the Crimsons were still walking at great speed*
Carmaine: It's been a while since I dispatched the undercover Van Guards. I wonder what they're up to.
Royal Guard: If I may, sir...
Carmaine: What's on your mind, Hager?
Hager: I couldn't help but overhear your conversation about the second Van Guards. I think that -
Carmaine: You don't think, I DO! Besides, I already know what you were going to suggest. Yes, I will pull back the first Van Guards. I do not want to risk being seen early on. As a matter of fact, do it yourself.
Hager: Yes sir, at your command sir.
*Hager left Carmaine's presence*

*Back to the lookouts*
*Guy continues pointing south*
Guy: It's coming very close now, we had best make our choice on what to do.
Lookout: What are you thinking?
Guy: I think we should present this problem to the higher ups, they'll know what to do.
Lookout: *Turns and walks away* Alright, I'll meet you underground sir!
Guy: *Goes to turn around and follow, but see's something out of the corner of his eye and turns back again*
What the hell? Is that Spike running south right into the storm!?
*Puts his hands to his mouth like a cup and yells*
SPIKE, GET BACK HERE!
*It seemed that he couldn't hear him, no matter how hard Guy tried to get his attention, because he just kept on running south.*

*As the storm drew nearer, Link and the rest of the Soldiers on the surface ran faster. At this time, Link spotted the weapons transport homing down over a hill, with the Sandstorm right behind it. Still hurt, he ordered a few soldiers to help the transport get to the city.*
Link: "C'mon, hurry up! It's right behind you!"
*The roar of the sandstorm grew louder, and impaled the air with its fury. Buildings that were still standing began to crumble to the earth. With only a few seconds until the storm hit the base, Link jumped into a hole that lede to a chute, where he slid down into the underground garrison.*
Link: *To himself* "I pray that they made it."

*Meanwhile, back at the Crimsons army, hours were passing by*
Hager: The both Van Guards have returned sir. There is a sandstorm up ahead which seems to spread truout the land at great speed. The next checkpoint is the ruins of an old city but, based on the report, it'll be consumed by the sandstorm.
Carmaine: Very well, this should be interesting. We'll keep advancing until we meet with the sandstorm. We'll stop while it it still weak and wait until it dies down. No use in risking my troopers.
Hager: At your command.
*Hager left Carmaine's presence*
Carmaine: Can't believe the Emperor dispatched us out here without even a clue about the enemy. If that was not enough, there's a sandstorm impending our march. The reward better be worth it.
The troops kept advancing at great speed until the wind started to get strong and set up camp.
Carmaine: We stop here. Tell the troops that we are setting camp and waiting until the Sandstorm dies down. The city is still far away, secure the perimeter.
Hager: Yes sir. Immediatly sir.

*Artemis is still sitting behind the dune, ignoring the sounds behind him.*
Artemis: Godammit, it's just a sandstorm. It's not like its can kill us all.
Random Soldier: It'll kill us all!
Artemis: *Dumbfounded* Well, that was oddly specific. *He pulled a match hanging loosley from his lips and struck it against the ring on his middle finger, holding it in the air. The wind blew the match out from the south.* *Sticking a new match in his mouth* Well, *He points to the north, in the general direction of the camp.* Best head that-a-way.
Guy: SPIKE, GET BACK HERE!
Artemis: Fool. 20 bucks says he'll come back like he went through a paper shredder. *He walks by tents, tieing down the fraying ends ripped loose during the storm*
Artemis: *As the storm strengthens, the match is ripped from his lips, as well as the freshly tied tethers from the ground.* I think now's maybe a good time to scream and run like a little girl.

*The storm had finally reached its high point, and began to rip away at the ruined city. The transport had safely made it to the underground garrison, but at the cost of 3 lives. Soldiers who hadn't made it throught the storm were nowhere to be found. Swept away by the raging winds, their lifeless bodies would be carried miles away from the city. Garudias cover was no more, as the city was being torn apart.*
Link: *Inside a tunnel high enough to be crawled into.* Damn...the electricities out. I can't see a damn thing.
Soldier: Here...*Hands Link a lighten match*
Link: Thanks.
*Link begins to crawl through the tunnel, to the main underground base. Once there, he finds a small section, and lays down for a rest.*
*Elsewhere, in the middle of a demolished arena, a man with a Black Sword on his back stood with his hands high above his head, glowing with a red fury. He slowly lowered his hands towards the direction of of the sandstorm. As soon as this happened, there was an incredible explosion.*
*Back at the base, several fuel tanks had exploded setting off fires across the underground.*
Link: *Jumps up* What the hell?!
*Hundreds of soldiers began to scramble. They were stuck in the base though. With the sandstorm above ground, and the fire underground, there was no way out.*
Soldier: Link! C'mon! We gotta find an exit!
Link: *Link rushed towards the voice of the soldier. The lights were out, and the only means of vision were the terrified flashlights, and the raging fire* Hold, on, I can barely see you!
