Immigration issues..
« on: April 11, 2006, 01:02:42 AM »
I'm quite shocked that none has made a topic on this, and I'm curious to know everyones thoughts on this. I'm against this new move Bushie has made, is there anyone for it?

You too? I don't really understand it, but they're talking about at Kaizoku-Fansubs.com as well. I know that they are protesting so that a bill can be signed into law, but I forgot what it was.

I think people should stop leaving their own countries, and try to better their homelands. I'm not against immigration or anything, and I do understand that it is very hard to do.

Well I did talk about this in American History class today and I was being a jackass when this went on:

Teacher: The illegal immigrants work for lower pay and send the money back to their home.
Me: We should build the great wall of mexico
Teacher: That would cost billions.
Me: we hire the mexicans to build it for low pay and leave them on the other side.

Anywho, the issue is they want to stay here but not pay taxes, there are millions living here. Illegally. I say shut down all borders. any immigrant must come through ellis island like my great grandfather did.

Really? Well...if immigrants go bye bye, that just hurts our economy.. does it not? Immigrants are the most hardworking ppl in the US, not like most lazy americans XD

Well not Ellis Island. No one wants to go from Mexico to New York somewhere to Texas.  Still I don't think illegal immigrants should get rights, and be taxed. There should be extra non-citizen tax, like a work-tariff.  It's more incentive to get a green card.

Immagration? I have nothing against it as long as the immagrant can speak english. In school, if we play any movies or anything in the auditorium we have to put up spanish subtitles. Directions, instructions, and pretty much everything comes in spanish too now, if people move into this country, they should at least take the time to learn the language.

Not only is this totally slanderous but also absolutely false. Someone needs to turn off the idiot box and try to absorb credible information not fed to them by a liberal media.

Mexico's primary source of income, exceeding oil revenues, is money stolen out of the US economy and sent back there.

Stolen? If immigrants are willing to work hard for less money, they can do what they want with it. Make a law that says they have to work for the same wages, and companies will have no incentive to hire them over citizens. Then they'd stop 'stealing' American money.

Yup, our school also pays people to follow mexicans around to be their personal translators :/

The money is stolen from the American economy and is funneled into Mexico's. Mexico would never allow such a cash cow to vanish.

It goes far beyond simple practical matters. There are much larger issues at hand. In short, it is an invasion.

Immigrants are not 'willing to work for less money' in the sense that they are somehow more reasonable than the American worker who chooses not to be exploited by companies. The do not know of 'more money.' of the money and rights which Americans had to fight for.
