Going off what he said;
No uber short bumps, you should give a minimum of 1 day before bumping, even then it's pushing it.  This gives people who aren't in the same time zone, a chance to reply.
Second, samurai characters are all to common these days.  So are ninja's whilst were at it.  So, just by saying search google and find some, that is not helping, because some of the pictures may not be what the requester, ie. you, is looking for.
Finally, you should ALWAYS attempt to make one yourself.  How do you think the spriters here got so good?  They practiced.  Even if it turns out terrible, you gained and experience point, if you will.  From what I gathered, it does not sound like you even tried to make one, prove that you tried.  And remember, whipping one up right now and purposely making it sucky is helping no one, especially yourself.
