Agree'd, but I think that the top and left sides of the large box are too bright.

So I just have to make the box black like the bottom and right edges? That's all I really needed.

Been working on a new chipset...

I know the well and the fountain in the center don't work well, and will be changed to blend in better, but I'm posting what I got now.

Don't take this the wrong way. It looks cool, but there are a lot of wierd angles and stuff in it. I mean, I lot of it looks like it goes inward / and outward. Like, the water folds inward into the cliff, then it rises up before becoming a waterfall.

Plus, the way the white stone on the ground comes out, it just messes with my head a bit.

I like the fountain, even though it kind of goes with the inward thing I was talking about.

Please ppl, let's not become like GamingW. What you say is true but I wouldn't be so harsh. You obviously did a lot of editing and it came out great. a little tweaking here and there will make it untouchable.

Menu Test

It's not the most important menu or anything. Just a test to see if people can stand looking at it. At least it's coded. :)

Any eye problems with the following? Is the outer edge of it annoying? Is it too hard to understand? Is the small font too hard to read?

Those are the last thing I want. If this works, almost every menu other than the big main one will look like this with a blue box in the middle, a slot telling you which menu you're using, with the info in the middle. I'm even using more than one page for different stuff so it's not overcrowded.

This one hurt my eyes the least. If things are too dark, the white letters kind of hurt.

BTW, it's not important, but in case you're wondering how this menu works, it just says what elements are a part of you. If it's lit up, you get it.

If "Attack" is lit up, your "Main" attack has that element. Only this kind of attack can have more than one. Link Attacks only get one.

If "Defense" is lit up, that kind of attack's damage is halved to you.

The third says "Null" and that means that element will do no damage to you. If you're wondering why I've got Defense with this, it's because some stuff is triggered by attacks of a specific element. With this, you can't use those triggers. If you've played Vagrant Story, it's kind of like the Defense Links and stuff.

I admit the last is hard to read. It's supposed to be "Absorb." You guessed it, you absorb the element. You can attack your own characters so this might give you some extra strategy.

This came out to be a long post...Consider it a sneak preview of the battle system.

Looks coolio, but why the pictures behind menus?

Absorbs can sometimes suck. I remember I was playin FF9, Vivi could absorb fire, and I was fighting 2 fire monsters way stronger than my party. All three except Vivi died, Vivi was doing literally no damage with attacks, he was out of MP and MP restore items,  and these monsters only had fire attacks XD

To I Have a Sandwich, The normal black stuff kind of hurt my eyes with all that white.

dren is right. The fact that you or someone else Meis managed to recolor that kind of chipset is excellent. I should know. It'll probably look better ingame anyway.

Humm I dont see hardly anything wrong with Meiscool's screenshots, Some things are a little off, but I agree with dren, A+

I have seen worse maps and chipsets, so this work is excellent. :corn:

Sort of a mockup even though most of it's coded. I just have to put in the call events and stuff.

That place under the equipment will have a sub menu to the other menus. That element menu was one.
