Well since theres more than one country that has an 'independence' day, the term independence day may not apply for some people on this particular day. Its much less confusing to just say america day or something.

And it is kinda wierd that we celebrate our independence by blowing stuff up.

That's fine if other countries have Independance Day, but don't go making up titles for holidays and insisting that they are correct. Besides, why would anyone have to talk about an Independance Day other than their own?
