Take a look at the picture..
Study it in its entirety..

Then discuss about it.

Hey why not. It's not racist to recognize that black people have darker skin. The whole idea behind the ad as I understand it is light conquering dark. The guy on the left is clearly darker than the scandinavian chick.
They clearly won't use this ad in the states, because leave it to MADD and the other oversensitive whiners(by the way all white) to blow it out of proportion and say like a million black people died because of this ad and sue Sony.

It is still poor advertising at best. They could simply have a picture of a white PSP and under it say "OMG NEW COLOR LOZL!!"

I agree with MrMr. But watch - they'll sell 2 million white PSPs on opening day because of it.

Link doesn't work for me.

You know, its YOU people that are being racist here. We can all learn a good lesson from south park. If theres a white and a black person in the  pic (I don't know cuz I didn't see it), its you who seperated them into the two catagories, where as we should just look at them as two people, not as a white person and a black person (again, I don't know anything of what that pic looks like, I just want to say something cuz I have nothing else better to do).

That's not racist whatsoever.

White chick, black guy.  No derogatory racial slurs anywhere.  You people calling it racist must be those kind of people who blame a white guy hitting a black guy on racism.  That's racism that YOU're practicing.  Always blaming motives on racism is horrible.

Though funny to see people overreact.

EDIT: DB, did you remove the 'br>' at the end?

Lol, no, I saw the image now.

There is nothing wrong with that ad. If you guys really want me to go through why it isn't racist, I will, but it may be a long post...

Eh, I don't think it's racist either. So there's a black guy and a white guy, how's that make it racist?

Everything these days is racist! Take this for example: When I (particularly light skinned) walk my chocolate lab, it symbolizes racism because the white man holds the bonds to the black owned lifeform.
Racist to the max.
In all seriousness, though, it's still bad advertising because of the hypersensitive groups out there, and because race is such a touchy subject, many people are prone to take note of the suggested, although minor and prob'ly unintended racism. I did, but only as an offshoot of what my society's ideals have taught me. Personally, I wouldn't have thought twice about it, but would have clearly have the idea that the money-hungry whore that is Sony is making another attempt at separating your money from you with a simple color change, but nothing to further convince me that a PSP is worth shelling out $200 for.

Dragonblaze, EVERY single person is racist in some small way according to you then. You see an Asian person, and your brain automatically computes 'that guy is black'. It's impossible to see people all the same, because they don't LOOK THE SAME. Not that I buy into the whole 'diversity: because people that look different are different' mentality, but you have to know that someone will take offense to it. The 'colour blind society' is radical idealism.

If there was a black haired person instead of the black guy, and a white haired person, would anyone say its putting people with black hair down?

Yeah, someone will probably take offence at that, but it was never meant to be racism, and people who take it as such are just bending the meaning of the ad to make it so.
