I decided to do something productive over the summer, so I decided I'd learn Japanese..... and it is so hard...  So far, the only sentence I can say correctly is:

Watashi Wa oooog san desu.

Has anyone else here attempted to learn japanese?

I find the writing the hardest. All those symbols. And then you have to learn the Katakana symbols. Then its like, "****! I THOUGHT I WAS DONE!" Dont even get me started on Kanji.

If you totally ignore the writing system (-_-...), it's one of the easiest languages to learn.  No plurals, no future tense, words in a sentance can come in any order...

He's right. Plus, each syllable basically equals a word.

just PM me with whatever messenger you use and I'll give you sites to learn Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji along with some other stuff. =) I just started learning myself.
