What happened in this scenario?
« on: July 18, 2006, 02:34:12 AM »
Here's the situation: A person is found dead in the middle of the desert, naked and holding a piece of a toothpick.

Using only yes or no questions, figure out what happened. If the question is irrelevant, then I'll answer "irrelevant."

Note: This game is more fun when done with just one or two people, but it can work here as well. I'm curious to see how long it will take to figure it out.

Good luck. :)

Hmm... I'm gonna say yes... just to mean that it wasn't intended... but I'm not sure if you could truly call it accidental... :|

EDIT: Dren: no.

Did he draw straws?

Did he get the shortest one?

He did jump off a balloon?

Sorry, pretty old riddle.

Did he die of dehydration? No.

Did he drown in the oasis? No, there was no oasis as I said earlier...

Did he draw straws? Did he get the shortest one? He did jump off a balloon? Actually that's not quite completely accurate, but I'm not answering directly because you apparently already know this. Besides that, it doesn't seem that most here know this anyway, so if you know it, don't ruin it for everyone else.   Maybe it's old to you, but I've only heard it fairly recently, and so far everyone I've given it to has never heard it before.

Apex: Yeah, it's a desert, not wonderland. :p

You didn't get it right on the dot. :p PM me though. I'd rather have everyone who doesn't know work together to figure it out.
