First off, I'll show what I'll do for you.

I many games, you'll see custom icons like this:

And this:

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/Meiscool2/EX2.png

To put custom icons in your game, you need ResHack.. However, you also need an PNG -> Ico converter. That's where I come in. I will teach you how to replace the RTP icon with a new icon of your choice, and I will also convert it from PNG to ICO for you.

Read below, but note: Before you can do any of this, you must have your ICO file.

First, open ResHack. and open your game's RTP file.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Next, go to Icon, and click Replace Icon.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Search through and find the ICO file that you saved, then click replace.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Lastly, save this over your old RTP file. It might be a good idea to copy your game before you do this, in the event something goes wrong.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

That's it. So, send me your PNG file, and make sure it's around 32X32 in pixels, and I'll convert it into an ICO file. Then, go through the Tut above and replace the icon yourself.

Dammit. I was gonna make an RPT team. Just remember that for optimal quality you need to have a 16, 32, 48, and a 64 sized icons, in 8 and 16 bit color. Otherwise it resizes and gets blurry..

I don't know how else to send a ICO file other then MSN, as I tried attaching it, but it didn't work.

I hope this works. If not, get on MSN.

EDIT: it will say "No preview avaible". That is alright.

Why don't you apply the icon to an rpt, and attach the rpt to a post? Then they get corrected rpt and an icon.

Well, that has it's ups, but also, it would replace any Text Icon edit and Custom Text they have saved in their rpt.

They can just use ResHacker to extract the glyph and place it it the new rpt.
