Canadian College pwns American College. Cause US College is the same as US universities. I go to college. And I do nothing. And I'm gonna be able to run concerts. And get paid a **** load of money to hear great bands play every night.

Ok, honestly, I don't see college as just learning what you need for your job or career path. College is so much more than that. It's learning about everything. Sure, you can say, well, I can walk outside of my house and LOOK, I'm learning something. Truth is, that's not how it works. You learn many things in college and the educational portion is only a small fraction about what's important. At least, where I go to college, they want us to not only be able to use what we learn in our careers, but also in the world and in relationships of all sorts. I don't see why everyone looks at college as just more school. it's a great experience and one you shouldn't miss.

Rune of who?

And about the schoolfood thing, at my school it's great. But, like in Aussie, we bring our own food in Holland mostly. Or go to the stores in the breaks which are... Not 5 minutes walking.

My opinion is that college is overrated nowadays - that is, it isn't treated as seriously as it should be. A college degree isn't prestigious nowadays - it's just like getting a high school diploma. And sadly, that doesn't mean that people will try harder to get said college degree faster. I've seen some people dropping like flies in some of the easy courses, when said courses ARE easy and just require some effort to work in. Mind you, some other classes can be nasty (wuwu for college darwinism~) but regardless, college nowadays mostly IS overrated. This is coming from a kid who doesn't party around at all in college, either. :p

However, I admit that I like the break from high school life, a lot.

Think of it this way: Who would you hire? the man who is good, but dropped out, or the man who has a degree and knows exactly what he is doing?

I bring my lunch to school now.. Cheaper, healthier, and more filling thatn the crap the school serves.

Note: Bill Gates didn't go to college.

I just started college two weeks ago. I still live at home, though. It's okay--I think of it as High School 1.2, with better computer access, cooler lessons, better schedules, more people to talk to about Anime, and too many girls.

Seriously, I'm not interested in a relationship, and all of those girls around me....dang it, it's destracting!

I don't see why people hate cafeteria food. In my school, the food is better than the MCDonald's down the street.

I agree, but you didn't have to have the degree. My dad has a friend, this guy never went to college, and his first job was janitor of a bank. Now, this guy is in charge of this whole bank. He was promoted to the job. Nowadays, if they need a new manager, they'll hire a new manager instead of just promoting.

Actually it could be interpreted in two ways, and both of them involve his sexual ineptness.

I never really saw a Diploma as a sign of intellect. I always see it as work ethic. This doesn't mean those who went to college aren't smart. I think it just shows more that you are willing to work to achieve something. Maybe that's why companies look to people with diplomas first.

EDIT=
Tomi, I respect you even more.

Cool, college.  I don't go to college right now, but I will.  However, I'm more interested in learning what they have to teach me than getting a diploma.
