I'm surprised.

Yesterday was the 9/11 and no one made a thread about it.
I was really expecting a flood of people claiming to be really sad about it.

Well, my thoughts were that this is an international forum. An international forum that from what I've seen not only thinks America can f*** itself, but would needlessly rant about Bush with inconsistent gibberish. Easier to not make one.

When I look at it, I couldnīt care less. Sure, 9/11 caused 3000 American deads. But America's retaliation caused tens of thousands of deads, also with lots and lots innocent civilians. Who suffered the real price? America or Afghanistan? But I'ma not gonna discuss this with your guys, I'll make enemies.

Not that I aprove what the Al Qeada did, but just that the retalliation caused more damage over time then they did.

I just want to know how many people took the latest Cyanide and happiness issue as a joke, and how many were mortally offended. :p

Probably because they don't want to be accused of "claiming" it if they really do care.

You know what I meant. I KNOW there are people who are still sad about that, especially the ones who lost family members and such, but a great numbr of people, including myself, say they're sorry to be polite.
Because really, I felt sad at the beggining, but it had nothing to do with me at all.

Every month we're in a different color, ZOMG terriost gonna attack zeh trains!! ZOMG new videos of Bin laden!! Watch us translate it!! Lawl!!  Like really... they've been saying the SAME thing for the past five years, and it's getting old.. (Z)

It's terrible what happened, but what we're doing over there is just as awful. Everytime 9/11 pops up, I feel obligated to post a link to this video:

What I think's kinda stupid is that we have to do a minuet silence over here, yesturday, during school. It's like, what? Every year we have a stupid reminder that amercian is overly unprotected? Wa?

I mean, I understand the minuet silence for the War, because people volonteired their lives for our safety, and such. But this is just a kinda stupid thing to think over.

Really.

^: No, people are still volunteering their lives for our safety. Even if you disprove of what America is doing in the Middle East, they're still the only ones who have the balls to stand up and say "We think terrorism is a threat, so we're gonna try and stop it at the root." Even if their war is flawed, and their methods could be better, you've still gotta respect them for doing that, despite the pressure from the rest of the world.

EDIT: But let's not get into that stuff in this thread.

I was not actually affected AFIAK so I don't really care that much.
Sure, almost 3000 people died needlessly, but how many people die needlessly every day across the world? Starving children in Ethiopia, people dying of AIDS in Africa? I'm pretty sure that number is higher than 3000. Or at least in a week it would be.

Hell, I would post amusing images of 9/11 but I wouldn't want to offend anyone, and I don't want to accidently do that.

I think the Brits have a moment of silence because 9/11 was really the first attack that made everyone open their eyes to terrorism, so they kinda just choose that day to remember the dead from any terror attack. Ya'll had a train blow up, member?

Wanna see sad people? Go to Afghanistan. A lot worse there.
