To add on to Tiff's rant:

Tidus was a prepubescent whiner (aka, a bitch). :P

And for the record; *SPOILER*

Leaving your girl on top of an airship to jump to your death without so much as saying "I love you" or something along those lines implies gayness. <_<...
*END SPOILER*

Tidus was too much of a sissy, he complained and whined. Some heros have cool backgrounds, like cloud, being an ex-soldier (kinda...), Squal was a SEED, Zidane was theif... But Tidus was a blitzball player... He was just stupid...

Vaan kinda seems like Tidus (from the hour I played FF12), but a little better. Anyway, he seems to be like Tidus, just without all the sissy-ness and whining. He's ok in my books thus far.

As for the rest of FF12...

Story seems good thus far, very interesting.

Graphics are pretty sweet.

The battle system SUCKS!!! You select an enemy to attack, you walk up to it, and stand there until the battle is over, its so ghey. You should at least have to press an attack button when your ATB fills up or something that gets the player involved in the battle... Maybe it'll get better later on...

The bigging intro is WAY too random, its long, and it covers a lot of stuff, it jumps from one spot to another, one part theres a movie, another part is just text, another part is an old guy talking... I don't like it too much...

All in all, I think the game is pretty cool so far.

*Possible spoilers in entire post, read at own risk*
My favourite character of FFX has to be Auron. He was who made the game what it was. Without his character, I would've liked it a lot less.

Second close up is Seymour for sure. He was so wicked to seduce Yuna to get her to marry him so he can be offered for the final summoning and return as Sin to destroy Spira to purify it. I liked him a lot better then Sephiroth.

Third must be Wakka, mostly because he was the comic relief of the game.

*Major spoilers warning*
Now the story had some really great points to it.
For one, I liked the fact that Auron was an unsent and his 'dead-scene' was just... great. He rocked the game so much. The Seymour plotwist was awesome too, along with the Al Bhed and the war between Al Bhed and Guado. Gotta love Cid and Rikku. The overall history given throughout the game and knowbits about the world are nice too.

What I didn't like, was the emo Tidus part and him being 'just a dream'. I felt it way overdone. Also the romance with Yuna was too expected. Rikku would have suited him better, but meh.

GAMEPLAY
Now this is something that made the game more than the story. The minigames; the way you move past zones, no more world map; but mostly the battlesystem. RPGs have always been know to have battles of 3 or 4 of your dudes. So you had to choose. FFX however was made so that you can use everyone, 3 at a time, in a battle. This brought up so much more strategy than ever before. The turnbased setting and the fact you can see when who or what attacks are awesome too.

LEVELING SYSTEM
Now this was my favourite part of the game. The sphere-grid. It was just... SUPERB. No more leveling your characters hours after hours after hours for set skills till they reach level 100. No, instead you could choose your own skills. The sphere-grid is a superb system that I'd love to see again.

BLITZBALL
The blitzball minigame. The only minigame in any game I played for like 1/10th of the game itself. It pwnd, it pwnd hard, it got killed in X-2. Shame.

If you'd love to see it again, look in FF12 :D Its kinda a mixture between a sphere grid and the normal way of leveling, each level you get your stat point increases and such, plus you get some points to go to your licence board (FF12's version of the sphere grid). Instead of following a path like the sphere grid did, its on a board kinda, once you learn a skill, differant sections of the board appear, so its pretty cool.

I wasn't paying attention... Did you play FF12 yet? Cuz if you did, I probably just wasted a minute or two of your life...

I thought FFX was absolutely amazing, personally. It doesn't bother me if there are a lot of cutscenes, I love a well developed story.

*****SPOILER WARNING*****

Zanarkand Ruins and all of the scenes surrounding it still ranks as one of the most well-done areas I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. It was just so poignant...

... returning to the point where you started the game, with the same scene (around the campfire): at this stage Yuna could've died for all we know, as Tidus had finished his tale and so we may be walking into the final boss for all we know.

Then, of course it turns to night and the glorious "A Fleeting Dream" music comes on (love that track so much). It's just so sublime how you're running towards the area where you're potentially sacrificing your love (from the perspective of Tidus here, obviously :P) and the music in the background both brought ideas of the past and the nature of what you're doing. Truly magnificent.

Then the scenes within the Dome. Incredible. I loved the emotional depth to those scenes, with the incredible "Revealed Truth" music in the background.

Zanarkand Ruins ROCKS.

And yes, Seymour was awesome. And he never gave up. I actually sighed a sigh of relief when he was FINALLY sent. Seymour Flux was like the hardest storyline boss too :(

Oh, and for the record I actually grew to like Tidus. Didn't like him at the beginning, but at the end his story becomes too tragic for you not to sympathise with him. Besides, it's okay you all judging him from where you are here, but if you lived through the scenarios he had to go through, I can guarantee you'd be a tad  emotional.

*****END SPOILERS*****

I'm going to get FF12 the day it comes out over here in England, as I have with all of the previous ones since number seven... shame it comes out in FEBRUARY!

Damn UK release dates...

Shady Ultima, you are trendy and wrong.
Square has never sacrificed a game for graphics. You are just trying to be scene or something. The graphics improve, but so does the gameplay.

Cid is in FF12 somewhere. He's referenced as a "doctor" by some characters though I get the distinct impression he's up to his usual meachanical tricks. I haven't run into him yet though.

Getting decently far into 12. Very cool, very different.
