Anyone heard of it or even played it? Just found it and though the screenshots look alright I still dont know its worth the time downloading all these graphic packages just to play the game.....

eh rs does have crappy graphics and annoying beggers all over, I guess I 'll give a another shot since I havent played for so long...

recommend any others? I'm looking for something similar to rs thats better and free...

There are hardly any good free MMO's. Flyff and Maple Story are about it.

Yeah, if all you want to do is kill monsters..

The only free MMO with the qualities of a good MMO (sans graphics and a good combat system) would be RS. I know its sad, but its true.

Or you could just cough up the $5-15 dollars to play a paytoplay MMO.

Flyff got boring fast... most of the quests are just killing monsters until they drop X of a certain item.  :cow:

I was never for "paytoplay", never will be. It seems to kill the purpose of gaming in general. Buying the game and playing it. Not paying to keep playing it.

Then again, I also don't like sucky games either. But heck, there are many other ways of playing online that aren't sorry paytoplay. And there are some freeware projects I've been watching. They aren't all RPG but they are supposedly going to be MMO.

At least with p2p games, the people on it are forced to give you quality updates, not leave the game in perpetual beta like many MMOs.

Guild Wars is by far the best MMORPG that I have played and all you have to do is buy it out of the store and then you get to play it free for the rest of the time.......VERY GREAT game

Guild Wars is a great game. It has great graphics even by today's standards. Unfortunately, the only thing to do in the game is kill stuff. If I was looking into an MMORPG, I'd want to be able to do more than the constant fighting.. It makes the game boring after a while, unless the combat system is the best thing designed in the history of videogaming.
