Hmmm, it got bashizzled when I shrunk it down to 320 by 240, oh well.

I call it :  Sanctuary

Story  :

A kingdom abandoned by it's Ruler in its greatest moment of need.

Enemies from a far off Kingdom were invading this peaceful kingdom tirelessly.  Every day brought about new waves upon waves of viscious attacks from the unyielding invader.

Left to fend for the country was the King's staff of advisors, and the advisor with the most power, the Administrator of Law, was at their head.

To unite the kingdom the administrator came up with a plan.  A new haven was created, a place that only the advisors and a select few trusted citizens could find.  A place high in the mountains, with a path frought with danger and confusion.

At the top of a hidden mountain sits a stone building, inside this building plans are made for how to save a fragmented country. This building the pinacle of secrecy and solitude, allowing for plans to be made away from the prying eyes of the enemy. This haven stands tall, and stands proud, a monument to the perserverence of a country in its time of need.  This place is known simply as...

Sanctuary..

^  That should look familiar to some of y'all. I really badly wanted to use people on this one, and do an inside, i was inspired by a comment made in Sanctuary a while back.

Well, here goes...

[GLOW]The Pond[/GLOW]

If you were to walk by and happen to see a clearing in the woods, would you investigate?  Would your curiosity get the best of you?

(Click here for a song to go with it)

During the civil war, on a dark foggy day, a wounded soilder was seperated from his batallion.  Looking for somewhere to rest, he spotted a clearing.  In this clearing was a beautiful pond with its sparkling waters and shallow edges, he decieded this would be the best place to sit and rest.  While looking upon the smooth waters edge, he noticed a small pebble.  The pebble looked very ordinary, so he threw it into the pond.  As it skipped atop the water, he saw a gold colored speck on the pebble.  As the small pebble sank, he must of realized he found gold because he chased after it.  (Click here for this scene)
Where the water became deeper, he dove in after it.  Not knowing where it was or how deep it had gone, he dove father and farther until finally seeing it.  He grabbed it and swam to shore.  As he was leaving the water, he felt something wrapping itself around his leg.  He pulled and tugged, but it wouldn't let go.  He wrestled and struggled as the thing pulled him under.  You could see air bubbles coming up from where he was, and all the sudden, the bubbles disappeared and the soilder was never seen again.
(Click here for the song for this part
One year later, a engaged couple came upon the lake.   Thinking this would be a great place for a picinic, they settled down on a blanket and began to eat thier lunch.  In the middle of a juicy apple, the man noticed a small goldish colored pebble.  The cleary suddenly became foggy and dark, but not noticing this he tol his Fiance about the pebble, they went over to grab it.  As the woman grabbed it, she noticed that her Fiance was not beside her.  As she went to look behind her, her Fiance hit her in the head killing her.  The man then grabbed the pebble never to be seen again.

After 50 more years, three bodies were found by this pond, each of them, the wounded soilder, the engaged couple, had a golden pebble in thier hands.  When tested, these pebbles were not in fact gold, but pyrite.  Why did these three die over Fool's Gold?  We may never know.

But if you were to go to this pond, on a foggy and dark day, you will see a wounded soilder sitting along the pond's edge resting, and an engaged couple eating thier picnic.  But remember to stay away from the goldish colored pebble.
Now I will ask again, If you were to walk by and happen to see a clearing in the woods, would you investigate?

Due to the lack of entries, this will be held open long after it's due date. Please feel free (or forced, whatever) to enter. I don't want all the people that posted already to go without some others as competition!

I'm guessing it's because I posted a little harder to use map than the last times :eyes:

The City of Ancient Civilizations
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
*Story*
An ancient unknown civilization once built a city deep in the mountains of the south.  This civilization hidden from any outside influence of other cultures, built a thriving city.  Than the civilization abandoned there home for reasons unknown. The reason for this is still being studied to this day, but the city remained.

For thousands of years this city was deserted, until miners from the south came through to mine in near by caves by the city.  After the miners left, the city was decaying, it was turning into ruins.  The minors where one of the other reasons this happened.  They where ruthless and cared nothing of this city.  The city was thought to be forgotten and lost.

Until the city was rediscovered and rebuilt with more modern materials.  This was done by hikers, backpackers, and rangers to create a place that hikers and backpackers could rest on there journeys.  The city also became a ranger station which provided medical help and also helped lost travelers.  This service runed for many years until the Great War broke out.

In the Great War this city was used to stop troops from invading into there major cities.  Many battles would be taken place here and many victories for who ever controlled the city.  This upon any other factor caused the complete destruction of this once great city.

The rift

The precursors, with their advanced technology, created our world. Everything had a specific balance. However, as a mysterious force known as the plague entered our world, the balance set up by the precursors was destroyed. In areas such as this, the laws of physics don't apply, and even time itself is bent. Treasures and creaturs long lost are brought back again. The rifts are always changing and unstable, and make advenuring there very dangerous, even to the most fearsome warriors.

Alright. Provided I have school tomorrow, I'll close this when I get home and begin the judging then, now that we have enough entries.

If anyone else wants to enter, do it now. Remember, this is based on two parts, screen and story. So, if you're bad at screens and good at stories, you can still post a bad map and maybe win the story part:p
