That's really, really sad.
« on: May 27, 2007, 05:47:42 PM »
I doubt I could find a link to a news site in english, as this happened in a rather small town from here.

 Anyway, that's what happened:

Due to many robbery taking place inside of buses, the local police decided to make a demonstration of how it usually happens and how people should react. This would be done in a simulation, the policemen would simulate being the robbers, go into the bus, shoot at people with blanks and then say who reacted okay and who didn't and stuff like that.

Problem is: Somebody forgot to change the real clip of their guns for a blank clip. A 12 years old kid died after being shot in the head, and there's a few injuried people.

...I sincerelly have no words for this.

Simulations aren't too smart of an idea to begin with.

Beats me. I guess it was for realism?
But in the end, it was way too real.

"Wait, I thought you emptied it!"
"I thought you did!"
"..."

Seriously, how does that happen?  They just had to use a real gun, right?

I'm curious how people reacted.  Did people act all calm because they thought it was simulation?

Jeez, that's awful, how could anyone even authorize something like this before checking everything to make sure there won't be any accidents. Apparently, anyoen can get a job as a law enforcer nowadays. And these are the kind of people that protect us? (well, not exactly "us", but you get what I mean).

There was an amateur video of it (not of the people dying, though) People didn't seem to be scared until the guards freaked out.
