Character Generator
« on: June 15, 2007, 12:17:51 AM »
Hey. I'm a noobie, so please, just bare with me.

Recently, I have used your Character Generator (and made some rather cool looking character... yea!) But when I save it as a PNG file, and try to import it to my RPG Maker, I only get a message that says "Invalid Image Size"

I posted this problem before in the sticky thread, but no one has answered my question.

Please, I need guidance!

Ok simple enough.
-Do you have the RTP? (The default recourses)
<>Yes
If so, you might have noticed there being 4 charactersets on the upper side and 4 on the lower side and the size that it has 288x256 its the size any charset should have when you try to import it.
So even simplier, copy the charset you´ve made and the paste it into one of the rtp ones(or downloaded charas resources with the right size) and place it on top of the first character.
After that save it as "MYCHARORSOMETHINGOFTHEKIND"(make it a PNG) and save it, that way you did not lose any charset, you created a new one.
Now got to the the rpgmaker again and click "Import" then "Charsets" and then the charsetset you made.

---<>NO

--------<>Perhaps but I want an easier answer
Just copy the charset file and open up your game directory and then paste it directly into the "Charset" folder and you´ve just avoided all problems.

And isn´t this the wrong place for this thread anyway?

1) Open MSPaint
2) Open your charset in MSpaint
3) drag the 'select' box over the entire charset and select 'copy'
4) Open another charset in MSpaint (One that you know works in rpgmaker)
5) Select 'paste' so that your charset appears on top of the charset that works
6) Move it so that it's directly on top of one of the characters
7) click 'save as' and save this file as something else.
8) Import this new charset
