A song I'm writing
« on: September 11, 2007, 10:31:13 PM »
Well, here it is, a song I started today in study hall. It needs a bit of work, but...

Deception

Why... Why do I lie? Why do I continue this.... charade?
Who... Who am I, to let it all burn away and... fade?

Lost but not alone, try to find a home, I...
try to break your lies and deception

There... There along the wall, where the sorrows all...fall,
That... That is where I build this, my marble... hall.

Last and first, I'll never feed the thirst, I...
am part of your lies and deception.

The sky... The red sky is falling to pieces, lost in a memory...
You'll die... You will die and I will remain...
Remain...

Dead but not enough, I've become what I hate, I...
am the lies and deception...
Deception.

No offense, man, but it seems like typical angsty emo poetry thus far. Of course, that makes for ideal screaming death metal music.

Yeah.... It was written about the villain in my game, so.... it should be that angsty and emo.
Probably not the best song to post...

It's not really my usual style for songwriting tho. My songs are usually Weird Al-esque parody songs. I hate moat types of music, and so I make fun of 'em a lot.
Example: Here's part of a rap parody I'm working on:

"I like money, so buy my album and shoot the f*kers that don't like the bling and b*tches....
I went to jail, mo'f*kah!!!!"

That's the part with the least swears, btw. I go for waaaay too far over the top in my parodies. If I finish the whole song, I may just post it...

I will, but I need to finish the song first. I have a little done, but I need to brainstorm with my co-songwriter before I finish it, so it'll be tomorrow.

Yes, this is the right place.

I'm trying to work out whether those lyrics are really clever or if you just threw a lot of cool sounding stuff in that rhymed.

Uhhh.... the second one, mostly. The whole thing is really based on how the main villain in Ragnarok speaks, pausing before ending a sentence and trying to sound like he's been through a lot....

And, can I post short stories or parts of novels here, too? I'm less an artist, more an author.

Yup. Any sort of creative writing belongs here as well as art.
