Am I the only person here who has to wiki Darfur to know what we're all talking about?

Yes. Actually, no. I had to, since I don't keep up with current events much. All watching the news will do is make you paranoid.

To me not many people here seem that crazy or "whiny" about 9/11.  I don't know many people who are - its a tragedy that is reserved in respect to the victims of 9/11 - it doesn't loom in our hearts everyday except for that day.

Can you really blame others for not talking about Darfur?  Our "News" - America's media news corporations don't give any time to Darfur - Journalists aren't allowed into that country to begin with - there isn't ever a rally cry shown on the big news stations such as Fox "News", CNN, and MSNBC - which there should be.  Television news sources are mostly isolated in this country or in Iraq with bias.

If your looking for good news to listen to National Public Radio look up the station for your area - the news coverage is from 4 - 7 pm eastern.  World news - told with soothing voices - without hardly any bias except one of a conscientious heart - the plus side is that you can listen to it without having to put your eyes on the television so you can be programming in Rm2k3 - occasionally you'll accidently put in the death tolls of Darfur for the amount of damage an enemy does to you - that enemy being the Janjaweed Militia you being the people of Darfur (bad joke - horribly bad joke - get angry)

Then there is Democracy Now which is on the net.

Al Jazier News I hear is a good news source.

BBC news comes on at like 6 on PBS.

Point being people aren't informed well enough - I only heard of the genocide of Darfur in world history class last year.

You make a very good point.

If I wanted to know what Darfur is, then no, as I would need to look it up as well. Of course, I have an excuse: I live in the United States, which is debatably one of the most endocentric countries in the world. Our news (which I don't watch much of to begin with) reports very little on anything outside of our country or our nation's business.

Stop whining about 3,000 Americans that died 6 years ago and do something about real issues. Give equal weight to tragedies that happen in non-English speaking countries as you do to relatively small tragedies in English speaking countries.

People get so wrapped up in the past because it feels more immediate to them than the present that happens half a world away. Open your eyes.

As for loose change, it's bullshit. They knew about it, but they didn't directly it.

Who cares if the death tole in that area greatly outnumbers 9/11 casualties? We gave Islamic Radicals freedoms, only to have them use that freedom to murder innocent people. We're in a war with out any solid ground as to the reason behind it. Our PRESIDENT is respected by no one, and we do not have a clear choice to support for the next election. These are real issues!

Why should America give equal weight to something that didn't happen in our country? I feel sad for these people, but come on... We have our own problems.

Because it would be a better use of news time than anything entertainment related.

That's our point in it's totality.

I dunno, I haven't talked to him in awhile and neither has MSlash. I know he moved up to Canada with his mom, had a graphic-design job, then was talking about moving back here to California. After that hell if I know.

Actually, can you keep a secret?

...we send him to first colonize and search the island in order to make it habitable for us Charas members. Red Giant also went with him, as did a few other members.

We periodically log in one of their accounts and make a fake post so it seems they are fine and well, but that's only because the secret forces are onto us.

Alex also went there, that's why we don't hear from him much.

Fix'd. Also, you didn't get that thing I sent you? The day you received your position, I sent out a package with all that vital information! I'll have the postman's head for not properly delivering such a package on time!

*sends mercs out to retrieve the head of said postman*
