« on: October 26, 2007, 09:32:38 AM »
i've beatin this game on PS1, got everyone lvl 99 mastered all classes with everyone, n finally square-enix decides to re-make with new chars(balthier and someone else i cant remember who)and two new classes, Dark Knight, and Onion Knight, is it worth re-playing just for these 4 things ?

Ehh, go for it. Could turn out to be good. Besides, a direct port but with extra stuff is always nice.

I've been looking at this myself, but at the moment I have no money. Bah.

It'd be the only reason I'd even consider buying a PSP.

Fortunately, I don't have to consider that much to come to my answer, which starts with E and ends with R. (Not for a while though, but I am a patient man.)

If you have a PSP though, go for it, FFT is spectacular as you already know, and it being handheld makes it even better.

Wow, I was expecting some blatant PSP-hatred from people. +20 respect to Apex for giving an intelligent answer.

Any PSP haters out there, get yourselves a cheap second-hand PSP, pick up this, Monster Hunter Freedom 2, one of the handheld GTAs, Lumines II, and maybe something else. Your mind will be changed about the PSP.

Sure it has a huge arrangement of crappy games, but it does have some good games, and things are getting better. God of War: Chains of Olympus anyone?

If you already have a PSP, then the answer should be a clear-cut "yes or go jump in front of a moving 18-wheeler". FFT is the best FF game I've ever played, and is within the top three strategy games I've ever played, so getting a chance to experience that piece of win anywhere is a real blessing. Of course, if you don't have a PSP, it's a toss-up. Do you have a PS1? Can you find a copy of the original? Do you care enough to play this epic title? If you've answered "no"? to more than one of these, then get it (yes, I realize that even if you said "no" to caring about it, then you should still get it). If you can answer "yes", then by all means, play it on your PS1 or PS2, or if you've bought into it before it's become worth it, your PS3 (they CAN play PS1 games, right?). Of course, there's still the matter of if you're a hardcore enough fan. Then the answer is up to you to decide.

I won't be buying it. I don't have enough incentive to spend that kind of cash on a PSP, and I doubt I ever will. Of course, that's partly because I have a working PS1 right in the drawer by the door to my room, and a copy of the game to go along with it.

My bro bought it. I haven't had a chance to play it yet (I've decided to beat every Zelda game I own) but I'll definately be playing it later.

Go for it. It's the best game on PSP right now.

For features, it's also got a new Vagrant Story-ish translation so the plot and skills are much easier to understand. It's also got new battles, and a few new secret characters.

The only thing people seem to complain about is the lag but since it's a strategy game, this doesn't really hurt it.

Word is that the story has been reworked to be even more epic than it previously was - and it did that quite well with the horrid translation and l i t t l e m o n e y.

I will make sure to take a Pentagram and molest myself with it.

YES Monster Hunter is a great game. This kid I know has it and let me play. But c'mon, it's FINAL FANTASY FRIGGIN TACTICS WITH A SHAKESPEAREAN TRANSLATION. This is my calling! I would KILL for a chance to buy the thing.

Dude, don't worry about it. It's a PSP exclusive, therefore it'll be available on PS2, PS1, 360, Wii, Gameboy Advance and SNES before the end of the month.

Monster Hunter was pretty cool, yeah. GTA? Please. That game series got old after 3. Lumines is yet another puzzle game I can get on XBL arcade and thus have no reason to buy a PSP for. However, Monster Hunter and FFT may make it worth owning alone since I don't have any other sony system on which to play them.
