I didn't. I guess I'm not a heartless bastard...

Wow, this really hits close to home... On Sunday, it will be exactly one month ago when I was away at a speech tournament and a teammate died in the shower of unknown causes... brain aneurysm or congenital heart condition or something. There was nothing that could have been done though... I can't imagine how these kids feel...

With an opening sentence as bold as that one, it's kind of hard not to... that and the image in my head of the event taking place. Mark another one up there for the Darwin Awards, I suppose.
Seriously, what a dumbass. And dumb friends. And dumb town. Snohomish county? XD But c'mon, 10 years old? Don't their schools teach about suffocating in health class? Pff.
That wasn't funny at all.  Kids are dumb, we all know it.  I'm not gonna go say this is because of the parents.  It's no one's fault.  Kids do stupid things, we all did stupid things.  Say what you like about this, but in my eyes, this was more a freak accident than anything else.

From the article
Friends told deputies they didn't know Codey couldn't breathe until they pulled him out.

Uh, what? o_0 And where were the parents when this was going on?
Kids do stupid things, but this is a whole other level of stupid...

I'm going to go shoot myself in the head now because I saw Daffy Duck do it.

Well, I was horrified at first, but it all went downhill when I read:
Quote
Quantrille says the children came up with the idea from 'Naruto,' a sand ninja cartoon character they watch on television.

Something about that just made me crack up. It's still a bit of a tragedy, but the idiocy involved makes it a lesser tragedy, and that one line makes it almost a comedy. Ah, the theater...

That is the exact moment in which i too started laughing.

I remember when i was a kid, some children got injured or killed trying to go into sewers, like the ninja turtles. Kids to do stupid things. And like I said, Darwin wins.

Even As a child I remeber thinking "holy crap, I love the ninja turtles, but what kind of an idiot goes into the sewers to play ninja turtles. Theres poops and danger down there"

And now, I gotta ask, What kind of an idiotstick kid figures he can breath with his head encompassed in sand.

What kind of idiots are his friends that didnt pull him out when he INVOLUNTARILY THRASHED ABOUT FOR AIR, like the human body does, when deprived of oxygen?

lol.

Kids do stupid things yes...but idiot kids do stupid things that get themselves killed.

I was horrified until I read that "they buried him head first in the sand" and that the dumb kid was voluntarily participating. Thats when I let out a smirk and a head shake. It errupted into laughter when I read that it was Naruto inspired.
