Need help with weird background!

Using RM2k3, when I import some battle chip sets and regular char sets into my game, and when I play my game, like you can still see the color background behind the character so its like their in some pink box or something similar.  Of course this is very ugly.   Any one have any ideas?  Thanks!

Click the pink, then it flashes, then hit import.
