A few more questions... (New question: June 13, 2008)

Well, sorry if im breaking rules for these multiple threads of my own questions, but, Im just going to ask all the questions i need right now....thank you all who answered my questions so far XP

1. Character 1 can use skills, blessings, etc....but character 2 cant. How do you set the commands for a character to use?

2. How do I make an opening intro when you first start the game?

3. Is there a way to set a monsters HP over 99999, MP over 9999, or any other stats over 999?

4. How do you make a dialouge appear at the start of a battle?

5. Is there any other place other than vgmusic.com to download music to RPG Maker?

1. go to the class tab in the database, and set the skills for each class, then go to your hero tab, and give each hero the appropriate class.
2. it depends how you want to do it. If you are using a movie file, simply put an autostart event which plays the movie file. You'll have to import it first.
3. sorry, but i'm not sure. i don't think you can with the dbs.
4. In the monster groups tab, look at the event window. Set the trigger to turns elapsed=0. Then just put in the messages like normal in the event window.
5. Any wav mp3 or midi file will work. You just have to import it.

As for the second one, you're probably talking about AUTO START. But I'm guessing you don't know about switches or anything. You have a helluva lot of experimenting to do :p

I suggest making a short crappy game with the default (rtp) graphics and learning the ropes.

Create an event on auto start and mess around with the different options.  We can't really tell you how to make your intro...

No.  Its not possible in the Default systems.  You'd have to make a completely custom Battle/menu/etc. system for it.

5. Is there any other place other than vgmusic.com to download music to RPG Maker?

Charas has over a thousand midis, (however not currently accessible)
Try searching RPG Maker music or something of the sort on google.

Thanks for the help so far guys. This next question might not be RPG Maker related but....

Im trying to record some of the gameplay of RPG Maker with CamStudio, but the sounds doesn't come out. How do you make the sounds come out?

Also, could there be a better recorder than CamStudio?
