How exactly is it a lack of effort?
While I will admit Pokemon fanart is a little bit lame, at least he manages to twist them into a neat looking/original design/picture.

About the Magby, definitely not your strongest work. It is far too "bubbly" looking.

EDIT:No more chaos.

Indeed.  A stunning show of originality, he is.

And the fact that I'm the only one who cares that he's unjustly held in the ridiculous artistic regard he is here is what confuses and worries me the most.

Hmmm... other than being Pokemon fanart... again... O_o;; the Cubone one looks okay, but the Magby looks... off and rather rough. While the eye things are rather simplistic, being composed of solid-fill and heavy black outline as if done primarily with circle tool.

Not sure on what else to say. I'm just being honest on how I see it, I see a lot of "it's good" so I thought I'd give a bit more detailed review as a counterbalance.

Edit: Though honestly, I can't think of a lot TO say. XD;;

They do look kinda dwomzy.

I understand where you come from Dominicy, but fanart is a past time, not a legacy we leave inherited to other people. it shouldn't be taken seriously in a lot of way except appreciating the art and style itself. if people here think is great, it's because they would be at that level of appreciation.

Nobody's calling him a god. He just makes things that we like. He gets criticized just like anyone else. You know that little expression "if you don't have anything nice to say, shut the hell up"? Well, I may not have quoted it correctly, but the point is, nobody likes a troll. If you really feel it's necessary to criticize with harsh and insulting words, at least offer him advice for improvement instead of being a useless heckler.

Dom, I don't really get what you stand to gain by trolling him or why it seems to be some grand purpose...He's "unjustly held in ridiculous artistic regard"? The kid gets criticism and praise, same as anyone else, and I think it's obvious that no one's holding back on him if they don't like his drawings. He has hits and misses just like any other artist including myself. There's nothing wrong with criticism, but there seems to be some sort of mean-spirited edge to everything you say about his art.

The big difference between Lucas and any other artistically-inclined member here is that Lucas posts a lot more stuff than anyone else (that's "ego-masturbation," I guess). If putting your art out there and bracing for criticism gets the kind of remarks you dole out, it's no wonder nobody else bothers doing it.

People always like to argue whatever point they can. Even if it's for 'trolls'.

It's like this forum's theme! it's like vitamins.

Quit drawing yourself!

If I wanted to see pictures of you I'd take (and sell) them. Now do one of Archem's human form and you've got me interested (and aroused.)

Yeah, I imagine that it must have been hard to see yourself from the side. You get plenty of points for effort there.

I'm trying to find something to criticize, but I like both. The eye is awesomely starey. What program do you use again? I'm trying to design a tat as well, and those nice, clean, thick lines are right up my alley.

Also, I draw myself a ton, too. Drawing yourself is the best way to work on bettering your style, because your own face is the one you're most familiar with. Probably.

Looks good. I really can't find anything bad to say about it. If I had to nitpick, there is some colour escaping the lines around your face. But I highly doubt it would be visible at dA ID size.
