How is that unfair?

If we know that we will see the result of our help we might be a bit more motivated to actually help you out with it.

I mean, what if some guy walked up to you and asked you to do a portrait of him?
But if you knew this guy, wouldn't you perhaps feel more motivated to even think about it?
Or what if this guy is gonna be a celebrity and you can be the first to make a portrait of him.
Would you do it?

It's simple life. You help the people you know rather than some complete stranger because you feel more guilty to help them.

You don't have to stick around to get help. But the chances that someone does that portrait for mr.random is far less than for a seasoned poster.

True enough, but also look at it from the way of simple kindness, or, using your analogy, if you painted the guy, he might be more likly to hang around and chat with you. I'm not saying for you to do it, just raising a point.
Btw. I think I'ma try again to make the sprite myself, the only thing was, last time I tried, it looked horrendous XD wish me luck.

I just said that you are not forced to stay, but chances are greater that someone will take the request then.

You could post what you get(even if it's horrible) and then ask for someone to make it look better. Spares us the work of doing everything.
