I'd never survive the 40s or later 50s. No internet, no VG, just evil possessed slot machines and evil girl's dolls. And everything is in shades of gray!

Well, if you were born in the 40s or 50s, you'd probably survive since you wouldn't know of VG or Internet's existence.
However, if you were using a time travelling machine and sent to the 40s or 50s, that would be different.
