Well, I see where this is going... I knew this would lead to religious bash sooner or later. Anyways, I don't believe what normal Christians believe. I don't know my specific class and frankly I hate classification, makes me feel like a kind of produce.

I don't believe in condemnation either. I think the idea of fate is ridiculous. I think a lot is based on free will and choice, only the choices we make are what matters. Not that everything is just good deeds and all though. But anyways. I don't think so rigidly as most do. I won't condemn you to hell as most would.

I Left religion in general, far too many people pervert the original meaning for their own selfish purposes.

Think of religion as a large swimming pool, the extremists are the children that piss in the pool and the piss is their ideals.

I myself want to research cancer and other types of diseases (Bio-major in college). There is nothing wrong in learning about the world and disseminating from what one has learned to be applied to civilization, in fact that is how progress occurs.

Sure science can create technology, but is all about how such things are used; there will be humans that will abuse the new technology for their own purposes, just like the extremists that abuse religion for their own gain.

I myself, honestly do not know what awaits me beyond the frame of my own existence on earth, perhaps some form of afterlife, or perhaps just Mu (Nothingness/Nihility).

^That means everyone. But yes, everybody hates extremists. I fight with ones of my own religion, I find them obnoxious, but I tell them they are going to hell for their hatred as a mock.

As for how this relates to X's problem, don't listen to them. You believe, and you follow, you don't need them to tell you different. You won't be an athiest for science. I dabble in it too, heck, my family WANTS me to be a scientist and we are of a baptist church, with strong Christian ties. So there should not be a problem. Then again, down here, we are looser... the REAL problem down here is: RACISM.

Exxtreme, do you ever ask yourself this question.  What would I be in religious views if my mom and dad were Muslim, Ancient Greek, Egyptian, Norse, Chinese?   You do know that spreading Christianity/Catholicism to foreign lands is straight up defying their gods and beliefs long before the supposed "Jesus Christ" ever walked the earth right?
Think closely at your uprising and your parents uprising.  They are simply scared little sheep who follow because they feel powerless.
