[Dragonium]

Okay, I figured I'd have a go at starting a proper project. I've never actually managed to finish one before - lack of skill, resources, etc. - but now I'm determined to do this one. I've already started on my database, but I need to think of what I need. Most urgent (In order of importance) are:

Monsters
Title and Game over
Battle animations

It's just using the standard menu and DBS systems, unless I decide otherwise. I'm doing the story and characters later. I'll keep you all posted.

Story
-------

Merion is a village with problems. Its sole defenses rely on its stone walls, inexperienced soldiers, and pure dumb luck. So far it has managed to repel the endless legions of Orcs, bent on destruction and domination. However, as the Orc attacks intensify and grow in number, the village needs some means of survival, which comes in the form of a quiet and aloof gunner who knows nothing about his past.
   Normally he is one to kill any Orcs who come near the city and leave it at that. But when an Orc Royal summons forth a huge army, the likes of which no living man has ever seen before, and forces his troops to march on the walls of Merion, destroying everything in their path, Samba realises that he, and the allies he meets along the way, must stop this army by killing this Orcish Royal before Merion is destroyed.
   Little does Samba know that on finding this mortal enemy of his, he will discover a secret that will turn his life upside down.

So that's a bit about the storyline. Seems a little cliched, I know, but I'm working on it. Characters coming up later.

Sorry for double post, but I haven't got round to doing descriptions of all the characters yet, so I thought I'd post some screenshots of the game's beginning scene. I know it doesn't look perfect and it still needs improving, but relax, I'm working on it.

Yes, that is the Orc Royal I mentioned. If only there was a main character around to do something about him...

Sorry to critique, but doesn't the waterfall look odd? What you should do (suggestion) is make a river flow to the waterfall. We all know waterfalls can't appear out of nowhere.

Sorry for double post, but here's the characters (In no particular order):

 Samba

Samba is the deadliest gunner on record to date. He knows nothing about his past, and he is silent and aloof, but with his Eikos (Pistol) and pure skill, he isn't one to back down when his memories are endangered.

 Loveless

Ennor Loveless. The name is a credit, as Loveless has never been the most popular fighter around, but don't anger him - His shortsword and magic is enough to change any foe's mind.

 Riza

Riza is a pirate and a rogue. While she is greatly respected by all that know her, she has been shunned and removed from society. She has a certain item that is wanted by the Orcs, and she secretly has feelings for Samba, but how will either of them cope when the true scale of the task ahead comes to realisation?

 Gitz

A fist-fighter of the Rebel Order, Gitz is the most reputable fighter in the town of Himon. He was once even more glorified than today, but his mysterious fall from power is the reasoning for his joining Samba. He may lose it in battle a little too often, but no-one has dared to say so... yet...

 Vance

An Orcish prince. Not much is known about him, but when he trifles with Samba in the forests outside Merion when his takeover plans are stopped, he harbours a grudge. His wrath - and the wrath of his father's armies - is one to afraid of.

 Gnarlak

The King of all Orcs, and Vance's father. He has complete control of all lands owned by Orc-kind, and his power is just as immense as the power of his hordes. Unknown to any other Orc or human alike, Gnarlak's family history coincides with that of Samba...

These are the most important characters. More later.
