I have a question to those who have dsl

Have you gotten a blue screen and having your cpu shut down?

Uh I think everyone has gotten the blue screen of death before, regardless of their connectivity.

I know everyone has gotten it. But today  igot for the first time and I asked 3 firends on the phone if they got it and we all have sbc dsl and one ofm y firends from another state said she got it too and she has dsl. So I was thinking maybe dsl has something to do with it recently

Hmm, something probably happened with the dsl connection that caused an error over the networked and effected some computers causing the blue screen. Usually problems like this are fixed right away, so I doubt you'll have to worry it anymore.

Now that I think about it, I haven't gotten the blue death screen yet with this computer (had it for 1 and a half years). My last one though got it on average 3 times a day

My DSL has had some problems in the past, like it wouldnt connect to the internet at all, I lived with that for an entire month. Then I got it fixed, but other than that, nothing has happened.

But I digress. Long ago, back when RAM was in the double digits and there was no Firefox to guide us, we used an Operating System. It was an ancestor of the same Windows XP you use today. We called it Windows 95.

People used this OS and were marvelled by it's desktop organizing and it's Task Bar magic. Alas, frequent use would result in the computer not responding, a common problem among the poorly maintained or built computers of the time. Windows 95, however, had a tool to counter this occurance - CTRL ALT DEL.

CTRL ALT DEL became our only weapon against the freezes. By pressing the three keys, we could summon a window that allowed us to shut down faulty programs immedietly, solving the problem. Some problems, however, were beyond CTRL ALT DEL's power, and thus we'd try the summoning twice, only to get the Blue Screen of Warning. Twas a herald of the monster to come. The lucky ones could wait patiently and regain control over the situation, but most times the demon appeared.

The BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!

This screen proclaimed fatal errors and would hijack a program and force you to shut it down. In a rare few cases the demon would close the errornouse program and run away, but nearly every time it would not leave, coming back proclaiming more fatal exceptions and taking over your computer. The only option at this point was to manually restart your computer, and lose all data. Twas a horrid beast.

Today, we have the new and improved CTRL ALT DEL to help us in the battle, but we cannot completely escape the monster. So beware, for it still lurks out there, waiting to attack when you least expect it. FEAR!

Ahh...Come to think of it, I have had the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH! I got it a couple times when I was trying to play a 4 disk game on Windows 98 and when I wanted to switch them, that screen came up. I hated it. You try clicking things and your comp just goes "beep" every time you do. All you can do is restart. One of the reasons I got XP...When I did, the game worked fine. Yeah...I hate the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH! And for certain happenings like this, that's why I have a seperate computer devoted to holding my game, and keeping it safe from the modern world of COMPUTER VIRUSES!
