Well, sorry to hear about it. But at least it ended his suffering.

Yeah, that's what it was like with my grandma five or six years ago.  Lot's of pain, lots of suffering. She died of cancer, though. I really miss her... Even to this day, I break down if I think about it too much... I feel your pain, Grandy.

My condolences. I can't know your pain even tho my grand-father died a few years ago. Sometimes it's better to toss your feelings aside...but such a lifestyle is not for everyone. If he was suffering then his death was a blessing...of sort.

I know how losing your grandpa is, I lost mine when I was 5. I give my condolences to you.

Me too. I'm afraid, though, since my other granny seems to be in poor health (only 30% of her heart works), and she's almost 70, so her time seems to be drawing near. I'm afraid ever day that I wake up and she's not up before me, and I'm afraid every time that I get home from school and she's not in the living room with the dog ready to greet me.

The stress in my life is really building up, I've realized just now...

The suffering is done and now he is happy elsewhere.

I'm sorry to hear that, man.

Deyr fé,
deyja frændur,
deyr sjálfur ið sama;
en orðstír
deyr aldregi
hveim er sér góðan getur.
Deyr fé,
deyja frændur,
deyr sjálfur ið sama.
Eg veit einn,
að aldrei deyr;
dómur um dauðan hvern.

May he rest in peace.

I'm back, it looks like his hometown was close than expected.
 No one really cried, I saw some tears, but no cries. There was even this little cousin of mine, Gabriel, he's about 4, I think, and I'm not sure he understood what was going on. He kept laughing and running around the coffin and making all those nonsense things kids with 4 years do.
 So, yeah, I guess 88 is a good age to die with, after all, and there's no point to be sad.

From the sounds of things, he died in his sleep, right? If so, then it's the best way to go. No sudden powerful pain, no final suffering... At least he's in a better place now.
