Animations!
« on: April 21, 2007, 06:15:39 PM »
Hi! I made animations! Feel free to point out how horrible they are!
By-the-by...How do I put multiple on without double-posting? Don't insult me. I'm new-ish.

To post more than one picture at a time, you will need to host the pictures on the web.  You will need a host, such as Photobucket or ImageShack.  For photobucket you will need to make an account, which is free.  I personally recommend photobucket because you can upload and organize your pictures into albums and such.

Now that your pictures are hosted, you will need to find their URL.  This will be something like http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i133/daetyrnis/charasthreepointzerosmall.png.

Using the URL, you can post it by either using BBCode:
Quote

[IMG]http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i133/daetyrnis/charasthreepointzerosmall.png[/IMG]

or HTML, which won't resize your picture to 320 by 320.
Quote

<img src="http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i133/daetyrnis/charasthreepointzerosmall.png" />

The result is that your picture is displayed. ^_^

We used to have a bunch of .gif animation contests, galleries, and games a while back, but the more successful ones got lost in some kind of server problem thing way back when, and the most recent ones (the ones that are still available) are pretty lousy. It's a good start, but it's not too good on a larger scale.

Ive never made a gif. Never really figured out how. Never tried.

I wonder, is there like a tutorial out there? Id like to make a gif.

It's bound to pop up, so here's a good freeware GIF animator.

Microsoft GIF Animator

It can create transparency (as in, only the background colour, not alpha like PNG), adjust the length of frames, doesn't add a tag to your nimations, pretty much anything that you look for in a GIF animator.

EDIT: lol, GID animator.
