Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince
« on: July 16, 2009, 08:25:10 PM »
I went and watch the new harry potter movie today, and while I really liked it, it still seemed to lack alot as well. They stayed fairly true to the story, but I was dissipointed that:
The battle with the death eaters didnt show, and they didnt show dumbledore's funeral procession.
What did you guys think?

I stopped watching these after the Fourth.
That one ruined them for me.
I've heard that this one is the best out of the lot so far so I might check it out if I can fight through the crowd of raving fangirls.

Best movie of the series so far. Definitely the closest adaptation since the first two, as well. Granted, some important points were left out, but most of us looked past them because of the great writing. The humor was smart and highly enjoyable :)

Although, I too was sad that the funeral was left out. I knew about it before hand, but still... I wanted to see it...
Here's to Deathly Hallows Parts I & II!

Also, before someone else notices and makes an *** out of his/herself, the title is Half-Blood Prince. Not Blooded.

I thought they stopped making these movies.

Well, I learned something new today.

Never saw the 5th one. I'll get around to seeing that one, and this one eventually. I'm not in a hurry, though.

5th and 6th were the closest adaptations to the books. The movies were really well done, but no matter how well done it is (unless of course they would make a 6-7 hour movie of it) they will never be as good as the book. Though I would sit and watch a 6-7 hour harry potter movie if they would do it right and include everything.

I never read the fifth-seventh books, so besides the typical spoilers, (AKA: SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE.) I don't really know what to expect. I have to be honest though, I like the light-heartedness of the series more than the gloomy over-kill serious aspects. The series has started to take itself far to seriously for my taste, but never the less I plan on going to see this with my family in a few days.

You should ALWAYS read the book before watching the movie, movies NEVER do the books justice. The movie I think that has stayed truest to the book but still not near as good as the book was, LOTR: Return of the King
