My First Scratch Chara sets
« on: July 13, 2006, 06:17:12 PM »
Hello everyone, I have been here for almost a year now, and well I guess I just wanted to contribute alittle something.

So here are some charasets(incomplete).
Well I geuss I wouldn't call them charasets because they aren't finished it is only one pose so far.
Ohh, and as for the head I couldn't get it right so I looked at one in the online generator and modified it somewhat to fit my body.

But tell me what you think and I will hopefully get them to everyone someday.

I will explain them for you as well.

Top-Left : Buff kind of character (I thinbk it needs to be improved alittle more

Bottm-Left: regular Skinny Character

Top-Right: Fat character ( Improvement,I think, is still needed)

Bottm-Right: Skinny character in use.
The cloak in the online generator is something i wanted to use in my game, but seeing as I am using these sets for my game, it wouldn't fit. So I looked at it and scratched it onto my character.

These were all hand-drawn( except for head which is an edit) in IDraw.

Hmmm symmetrical(sp?)
That could be becasue I wanted a person to have a normal standing pose. Well look it really, one foot is facoing forward(our right) and the other is to the side, to me it gives more of a symmetrical look.

Anyone else know of ways i could improve these?

Hmm, I can mess around with it and see what I get. Atleast for the next version. Once I get this one perfected I can move on to making the fat guy and buff dude.
Also, do you think that for that fat guy 1 pixel is enough spacing for his legs, to me he doesn't look odd. But I can see what you mean for the skinny one.

+What I think needs improved+
-Fat guy's face puffed alittle
-Legs for the skinny guy *Fixed as of yet*

Also after about 4 hours I have finished the first version of the Lower-left's(The skinny guy)whole template.

The hardest part was doing the walking animations for left and right. I believe that the first animation for the left movement and the last animation for the right movement need alot of work, they were the hardest.

Here I will show the ones I mean, or you can just look at it and see. the O's are the ones I am talking about.

Up      X-X-X
Left    O-X-X
Down X-X-X
Right  X-X-O

His torso is too long in comparison to his legs.  You need to make his legs a bit longer to make it look natural.

I suppose you mean on the side views, I was just noticing that, alright well that will be fixed sometime. I will work on them alittle more when I get back from work.

+What needs to be done+
Poportions on Skinny Guy animation
Buff guy's animation
Fat guy's animation

Thanks so far to Tomi and the keyblade master for all their help, considering they are the only two to post in here.

Edit: Fixed the legs, I think.
