O N Y X

This game is a year and a half old, and right now, I'm in the process of completing two RPGM 2003, one which should be done early Spring, if not earlier.

Anyway, this was my first completed game....ever, in RPGM2000. Having said that, this game is far from perfect, and there may have been some errors that slipped through (though I hope not!). So please, approach this game with an open mind. It can get vulgar at times....just a warning. ;)

-------------

BASIC STORY:

The game is in modern times(well, a few years over), the year 2014. You are playing as Chad Daniels, a rather "moody" teenage boy who, unfortunately, lost his mother to a disease. His father ran out on him, and his Aunt is constantly sick.

Trying to be the best nephew you can be, you help your Aunt out by trying to find her a pillow from your storage room...but...there's someone in your storage room...a little boy.

You ask the little boy to identify himself, but instead, he screams and runs off.

Confused by the weird event, you go check up on your Aunt...but she's gone, and to make matters worse, you begin to hear monstrous sounds coming from your front door. You're saved by an angel, who explains to you that the Kid is actually the "Onyx Boy", the only one who knows the location of the Onyx, and is the object of pursuit by many powerful forces. The angel calls you the "Peditra", the only one who can connect with the Onyx Boy, and destroy the Onyx.

So now you're left with two options...help save the new world of Allumia, which is nearly exactly like your old home...or, find a way back to your own original world. Which one would you choose?

Yea I like that chip in the first screen. Can I have it? I was going to do a futuristic RPG but didn't have any good town chips. that one fits the bill nicely.

Is it any good? Do you know? Because I've never heard of this member, and I don't know if he's any good... Or at least good enough for a download.

I quit after the part where you get to the arcade, the game is unnecessarilly vulgar and because of it just comes off as a gang war rpg...

You quit after 15 minutes? Gang war? Wow, okay. Random. As I recall, the language (that early) isn't that bad.... No offense, but something tells me that you weren't willing to give this a shot to begin with, so you were looking for the quickest excuse to stop playing it. The arcade was an optional (but recommended) scene anyway. You didn't start  the story at all. This game has nothing to do with gangs, and I'm kind of insulted, because I desperately tried to avoid stereotypes here. Just give this game another shot. As long as you're not a graphic-nazi, a prude, or obsessed with games with CMS and CBS, you won't be disappointed.

The turbo download works for me, but you can also find the game here.

 Ultima World

A review is there as well, incase you're interested.

And to the member who doesn't know me....yeah, I just joined a weak ago. Because I'm new, doesn't mean I can't make good games. ;)

Secondly, I'm just going to get this out there now..... Yes, there is cursing. Yes, there is suggestive dialouge. HOWEVER, it is not frequent. In fact, the "f-bomb" is very rarely dropped. This game is also VERY, VERY, DARK.  If those of you of who've played Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (all three of us) my style of storytelling is similar to that game. Please, iust play this game with an open mind, and play it the LOWEST EXPECTATIONS POSSIBLE. That way, you can't help but to enjoy it. :p

But yeah, this was my first completed game, and it was made a year and a half ago. I've improved, but please, give this game a shot. It'll surprise you.

Oh, and...to the guy that wanted Zycon's chipset....go right ahead. They're some other stuff in there too if you need some.

Wow....all this talk makes Onyx seem like a bad game. Generally, those who've played it, liked it. Some don't like the cursing and difficulty, but no one has ever said it was "bad" by any means.

what I mean is that every other word was something about swearing, that's the main part that I had a problem with.  I just thought of it as you were overtrying to make a good game you could say, didn't mean to offend you, and when I say a gang war, I mean all the swearing.  I liked the mapping alot, didn't like the characters.  very good mapping, again, so maybe I'll play it again.  I didn't mean to offend you in any way. :)

EDIT: I personally say that's why the games should have ratings stated somewhere in the summary.  I didn't say it was a bad game, I just didn't like how dark the atmosphere was, maybe I'll try it again, and just try to expect the worst.  from what I played though it was a very well designed game.

Dark is real, real life is full of people cussing. Why should a game be less vulgar than the real thing?

Anyway, I'll it a try later when I find some time. It doesn't seem too bad.

No, it's okay, I just wanted to clear up some things. It's not your fault, I should have clarified from the beginning what was in the game so people would know what they're getting into.
