Pixel tutorials
« on: February 14, 2007, 07:30:53 AM »
Feel free to merge this with another topic if necessary. Here's a few tutorials for doing pixel art stuff like spriting, making chipsets and stuff. Hope it helps!

Pixel Joint tutorials (Which has links to outside ones as well)
http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/tutorials.asp

Gas 13 pixel/photoshop tutorials:
http://gas13.ru/tutorials/
Contains some pixel tutorials. It's in russian, so go under Menu, and press English so you don't have to read in russian. I really recommend you read the "So you want to be a pixel artist" by Tsugumo, you could find that one here:
http://gas13.ru/tutorials/sywtbapa/

Derek Yu's sprite tutorial
http://www.derekyu.com/extras/pixel01.html

Metallic objects:
http://www.tcp-ip.or.jp/~s-iga/tips/2-3metallic_objects.html
Tutorial for making metallic objects

Pixel zone:
http://pixel-zone.rpgdx.net/shtml/tutorials.shtml
More links, and more tutorials. In particular, check out the mini-tutorials, such as grass tiles, rocks, brickwork, and the others. This site is pretty helpful. Too bad that not all the links work.

Sprite art:
http://www.spriteart.com/main.html
More tutorials. It also has some tutorials for making monsters and stuff.

Tales sprite tutorial thing.

You know, I just might make a topic where you post LINKS to tutorials of various things. I'm tried of telling people to go look for a tutorial....

Thats a good idea. If you make a topic like that, I'll get it stickied.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN
