Can I turn Row off?

Hey everyone.

First, could someone explain what row actually does? It's a useless command in my eyes and not really explained by anyone.

Secondly, is there a way to turn it off completely? My battle sprites are being screwy because if you use row to start shifting characters
with row, the battle animations start to make no sense and look weird.

In the back row, characters have more defence and less attack.

In the front row, characters have less defence and more attack.

So you'd put your mages in the back row because they're weak and wouldn't use attack much anyway.

Didn't you ever play any of the old FF games? :p


They seem to be compulsory in the DBS... I have no idea why.

In the System 2 Tab, just get rid of the one that says Position.

But in Battle, I'm afraid your stuck with it. =/ At least I think, because its in the test battle... I didn't try it in game...

I had a hunch that that's what row did and no unfortunately I wasn't raised on FF. I played silly games like... Cockblaster and stuff. Yeah the problem is my animations are
starting to screw up when I go on the front row. It looks really smooth when I attack, he jumps forward and launches the ball at the enemy, then jumps back. However, once
he's in the front row he moved backwards an attacks from the wrong place. It looks really weird

And my game was doing so well.

Well, the best thing to do would be just to put a little note at the beginning of the game telling the player not to use the row function as the game is not compatible. It's not very professional but it's not the end of the world.

Go to system 2, select the second to last one and put none. Swithc that to Order again and swith Row to ATB Mode.

Its still there in battle though.  (Scroll to the very last command.)

It is impossible to get rid of it in the battle screen.

This is awful! It's got no glitches or flaws in the entire game and works perfectly. This problem has stopped me going any further now.
