XP + Leopard
« on: February 09, 2009, 01:37:38 AM »
Okay, my brother bought a Machintosh and we're trying to put them in network, sharing both internet and archives.

Thing is, out of complete luck I was able to do that, but I still can't figure out how. Plus, my PC can't see the Mac, but the mac can see my PC, so something tells me it's not really perfect. We can share archives and he can acess the internet, but I just don't know how I did it.

Not only that, the network does work, but randomly (I'm trying to figure out the patterns, so that I can identify the procedure to make the network work. So far I got that I have to turn the PC on first, and then the Mac, and log in the user account that has a password.).

Anyone knows how to make a network between Win XP and MacOS Leopard? The PC being the host of the internet.

Thanks a lot!

I'm not sure what your internet sharing problem is, but you should always be able to access Windows computers on a Mac through network, without having to do anything. You probably have to set up a network system on Windows though, which is a huge pain in the ***. Using the default connection between OSX and Windows through Mac though, is a two way things, you can alter any public folders and move files from and too the Mac.

You can probably find the solution to your problem online.

I did look around, but with no success. I got no sharing problem right now, I just wanted to know what is it that I did to make it work, so whenever I have to do it again, I don't spend 3 hours trying...
