Mystivale - Legend of the Twelve (Work In Progress)

This will be my first RPG2K3 game. Cross your fingers for me!

The story is based on a roleplay I made and am currently involved in called Mystivale. The plot of this game itself would be the ancient history of the RP. My hope is that my fellow roleplaying buddies would enjoy it, but also that anyone who has no prior knowledge of the Mystivale world would as well.

The Story

In the beginning, the lands known now as Ashul, Alezaz, and Valtaani were one great land called Mystivale. The two races of spirits, known to some as "angels" and "demons", long warred for control of the race of men. It is said at the height of this war that Mystivale was broken into continents and islands. When the dark spirits threatened to destroy men entirely, the spirits of light retreated, but not before swearing in their Language of Truth that they would return to Mystivale and slay the dark spirits. Afterward, three of the demons set themselves up as gods over the humans, and forced them into servitude by threats as well as by promises of immortal power. These three dark gods then named the newly separated lands after themselves. However it did not end there, for the gods grew jealous of each other, and each sought to control the human race alone. Once again there was war, only this time between the demon gods and their armies of both monsters as well as men.

However the prophesy of the beings of light has not been forgotten. There will be twelve among the race of men who will stand and fight for the fate of their race. If they succeed, they will be able to bring forth a new era, not of angels or demons, but of men. But if they fail, the lands of Mystivale will forever be under the demon gods' control, and the beings of light who swore their very souls in the Great Oath will be no more.

Game Features

- Play as either Naro(warrior), Tauren(fighter), or Silma(archer)

- A home base, dependant upon the main character that you choose, that evolves as you free towns and gain allies.

- Non-linear gameplay means you can play through at your liesure and adds to replay value.

- Play mini games and complete side-quests for money and to unlock hidden items and magic.

- A magic system involving element mastery and magic combination.

- Reputation, love, and rewards systems.

- Find your soulmate, marry and have children.

- Multiple endings depending upon how you play the game.

Sounds pretty cool with some great features. The classes seem a little blah to me though. Remember that game play is important and having classes/characters that are unique and bad-*** add a lot of fun to the game besides just a compelling story line.  Good luck with your project.

You'd know, Drak, with your dark-gunslinging-whore-vampire classes or your half-bull-mage-puppeteer! :p

EDIT: A minotaur puppeteer actaully sounds pretty cool!

Keep in mind this is my first. Besides, I rather like the old style RPG classes. As far as gameplay, it will be something of a cross between Final Fantasy, Seiken Densetsu, and Suikoden. I'm not talented enough to do a custom BS or anything like that, and I don't want it to be too labor-intensive, otherwise I know I'll loose interest. But I will make the effort to give the characters individuality in their personalities and abilities.

Like I said, your game sounds cool. I'm a variety whore and have to have everything you can think of in my game as a playable character.  Anyway, don't mind what I said. It's just personal taste coming out. It's your game, your rules, good luck.

Function print screen, save in paint as a png, upload. That's alls you need for screenshots.

Yeah. 40 Classes and they all have their own homelands to navigate. I don't think you can get more variety than that bud.
