Bear with me
« on: October 17, 2009, 06:35:13 PM »
I've been hunting down Tilesets for a long time now here on Charas, and I prefer Charas because of it's
easy access and reliability.
However, i've been tackling a project, and it requires ALOT of unusual tilesets, some of which I am having trouble either getting to work, or even finding. Right now, I need alot of Modern-ish tilesets (1930's Depression preferably)
I realize how unusual this is, and how little (If not ANY) are probablly in existance.
Which brings me to my question, is it possible for an idiot such as myself to learn how to make Tilesets?
If so, can you please be descriptive or offer where I could search to learn?
I create Sprite Comics in my spare time, so I probablly can work some basics

I would PM Missingname and see if he'd be willing to give it a try, the chips that he makes can be pretty nice.

Well, it's a heck of a lot different spriting a tileset. On one hand there are less animated frames with the exception of water/fire/etc. But on the other it is scenery objects and whatnot and some texturing is involved. Never done it much myself to be honest but shouldn't be too difficult with a template and studying other chipsets/practice.

1930's, hmm?  Black and white?  Or color?

More info, please.

I PMd MissingName, but I will reply here for good measure.

The Tilesets I was thinking of, the 1930's Great Depressionish Tilesets, I need them for a scene where the main charecter is going up against the mob, the idea came to me after watching the anime Baccano (Minus the Immortality prospect)
I wanted it in color<--(To Missingname)
And I needed as many as I could grab/make myself, i'm still learning how to create them as I type this, but i'm slowly learning;

I needed the Map of a city, like Little Italy new York, with Cars, and Police Cars (Old ones of course)
Finding Charsets of NPCs wearing 1930s clothing may be hard, but i'm pretty sure I can find them, as well as Charsets depicting men aiming guns (No Tommyguns found yet ;_;)

I also needed the Maps of the Inside of a House, and maybe even a Police Station for good measure (It would aide me greatly)

Any more details, JUST ask

Thank you guys, really
