I wanna make a game with mechs. i havent really thought of a story yet tho. i wanna make the game with sprites like the one below for a cbs. im just waiting for permission from the author.

No, I mean, what kind of battle system is this going to mimic, the stylings? CBS are mimic/makeshifts put together by events and variables you know.
Personally I prefer addon systems, such as the negotiation system in CR, which is like the one in Shin Megami Tensei.
Darn, that reminds me, I'm going to need a Beast Index (A thing that gives all that info on each creature you gain as seen in all those other games like Demikids.)
