New Game Entitled:
« on: April 19, 2005, 12:09:54 AM »
Mind Over Matter.
I borrowed my basic plot of "Dealer", except twisted it around to make it more interesting.  I'm not going to lie to you, it is the basic plot, except it is hardly noticable.  I'm going to fill you in on the little story on how I came up with the idea, to perhaps help you others having trouble making plots, and then give a brief description on the game.

How I came up with this game:
Basically, lately I have been having some trouble sleeping.  I can't seem to focus on just one thing, so my mind keeps racing and I'm always awake.  So, eventually, I don't remember how, but i came to the solution of plotting out for "Dealer".  But due to these ideas, some of the better ones, I couldn't use them with that game.  So it is very possible I may be ditching that idea (confirmation of this is still TBA, for those of you who like that idea and want to "borrow it". :P ).  Anyway, for the past 5 days or so, I have been falling asleep easier, and coming up with more ideas for my game.  So its a win/win situation.  Anyway, onto the plot:

Mind Over Matter:
Similar to what happens in "Dealer".  There is this village (Name TBA), and it is ruled by a Kingdom (Name TBA).  Recently the kingdom has become corrupt and the village has become worried, but not too much.  This is when the character (Name TBA) comes into play.  He was found outside the village as an infant, and was raised by (TBA).   Since he was young, he had some unusual psychic power that he has always used to help, and has been training in order to protect the village in case the kingdom decides to attack.  One day, he was off to visit a nearby market town in order to pick up some supplies.  On his return, he finds the town in chaos after a brutal attack by the soilders of the kingdom.  He arrives just in time to see them ride off.  He rushes to his house and finds the one who has raised him lieing near death.  After some quick talk, the man dies and you chase off after the soilders.  After many battles you reach the king (I smell a boss fight).  Should you defeat him (which you need to do in order to progress through the game.)  Upon return the the village, you are expecting much thanks for this, but end up getting the opposite.  You are accused off cold blooded murder and must pay the penalty.  You find yourself in prison, and then do a quick quest in order to escape.  You run away and thus begin your quest to find a new home to stay at, all the while being followed by this mysterious person who you are unaware is following you.  His motives, well, play the game and find out :P.  (Keep in mind that at this point, you are still young.)

In order to keep some of the best parts hidden, I'm going to skip to where the plot to really take its's final form.

(At this point, you are older and stronger.)  During your travels, you learn that what happened in the village your from is happening everywhere.  Apparently, they are all ruled by this "Kingdom in the Sky".  In order to try helping, you set out to eliminate all these corrupt kingdoms, and this master one as well.  Unfortunatly, you are again misunderstood in many of these missions, and taken for the bad guy.  Throughout the game, you must deal with completing your goal, and escapining from the authorites chasing you.

I do realize my descriptions are a little weak, but keep in mind, I'm both trying to patch up all the plot holes, but also not reveal too much of the plot.  I plan on using RMXP for this game, but I am leaning towards RM2k3 considering no one uses XP, to my knowledge.

Apologies for double post:

I recently managed to draw up the title screen in my free time.  The background and font for the title isnt mine, I found them somewhere, don't remember the location though.  Here it is.
