Free bandwidth to help you out.
« on: April 28, 2005, 03:37:52 PM »
Hi sorry to double post but I dodn't want you to miss this.

I would like to offer:
 1-5 gigabyte of storage
 100 gigabytes a month bandwidth

Absolutely free... no ads or anything.
I don't even mind the urls being hidden so nobody knows where
the files are stored I just really like the look of this project and would
like to help.

I could set up a FTP account in seconds so just email me:
eyaka_eak@hotmail.com

This offer is only open to the CHARAS project not individual members
so please don't ask.

My server is Canada based but has 100kb download speeds almost
invariably from anywhere in the world.
So it's fast!

Hope you take up the offer, it could save you a lot of money!

Thanks, EYAKA (aka Jack Adams)

You do know that this project requires more than just that discspace? And the generators use MySQL to store the pictures?

Yeah, you're offering Charas alot of space, but it's too much work to use two MYsql accounts and split and merge all sorts of weird things. Maybe he could use it for somthing else though.. And why exactly are you doing this? Just because you like it? Sounds fishy.

well if he doesn't want to use two SQL databases that's fine by me, the offer is still there... it obviously includes a databas with it.

LOL it isn't fishy, I have a lot of spare servers and technically infinite bandwidth. Although my business is expanding it will be a long time before I hit 10 terabytes... a very long time. Besides why can't it be just because I like the project? I'm using a few of the sprites I made on
here in my game so it only seems fair.

Well I hope you take it up anyway... perhaps he could introduce a sourceforge.net system on here for individual projects, then you can all have an account that allows you to build your games with a project management system? I could host that, I dunno... I'm sure you'll think of something.

Sounds fishy.

no offense, but it does sound fishy in a way.. offering a free hosting by Eyaka and your email account is being hosted by hotmail is wierd, IMO.

i think this should be discussed by the Mods and Admin, even tho the offer really is good.

admin@eyaka.com
support@eyaka.com
contact@eyaka.com
eyaka@eyaka.com
webmaster@eyaka.com
sales@eyaka.com
complaints@eyaka.com

It all gets to my hotmail through pop3 anyway so why give you them and not just my hotmail?

I resent this fishy business, you all must be very insecure people...

Well, if you are for real, we will have to talk it over. And instead of starting a thread you might want to email or send a PM to admin 'Alex' ;)
