Pics in sigs
« on: September 14, 2003, 04:25:57 PM »
first of all, get a pic/gif you want (make sure either JPG or PNG.. will that affect ur bills, alex?)

well, to make this short and simple, the trick is "outside linking". signup in a site hoster the allows outside linking, such as AngelFire, Tripod.. etc.. and just upload ur image there and just link it through here.

however, there are some sites that DO NOT allow outside linking. such as Geocities! however, it can be manipulated by renaming ur pic as "pic.txt" since Geocities allows ".txt" files to be outside linked, that's how we manipulate it. so there's my 2 cents. maybe 3, but who cares.. lol

The .txt thing works, but there's one problem; the image seems to be a little distorted. Like this:

Does this look distorted to anybody else? I'm not sure if it's a problem with Geocities or Charas.

Wow!! I never seen anything so distorted in my life!! Okay just joking. It is distorted but not by that much, but still I wouldn't put in a fuzzy or distorted pic in my RPG EVER!!! Even if it is a little off balance.

The picture isn't distorted; it just looks like it when I use the [ IMG ] tag.

Can't you tell? The graphics are a bit TOO colorful, and some of the placement of pixels are a little of balanced.

Don't worry about this... I've told him how and as you can see it worked. You have to have [ IMG ] at the front of the link (without spaces) and [ */IMG ] at the end of it (Also without spaces, and without the * either). Thats for anybody who has the same problem.

hmmm.. i think ur pic size it too big.. if it says error or sumthing like that, that means the pic size is too big, and the forums can't upload it.. JPG, PNG and GIF files are the smallest.. BMP's the biggest.. don't use BMP.. FFL2and3rocks will get you.. err.. FFL2and3rocks.. any nick names you have? FFL2and3rocks is way too long.. hehe.. i'm a lazy typer! :D

Just call me FFL if you want.

And I don't think it takes any of Charas's bandwidth if you use the [ IMG ] tag, since the actual picture is on another site and you're just linking to it.
