Blade: The crystal Shadows

how it starts: it all begins in the small town of hyouga.
Losin (our hero) has an ability to predict where monsters attack.
the game opens up with the first one predicted to be near a concert in the town square.

he arrives just in time to watch the entertainment, through the middle of the song being performed by a songstress from a town other than hyouga.

after you hear the monsters eerie cry, the onlookers at the concert flee... exept Losin and Jennifer.

Jennifer wants to come along with Losin, the reason... *to become stronger* and though Losin doesnt believe in that obvious lie... he happily welcomes her and alligns for the fight.

(i wont give away any more... nop, not even the reason why its called the crstal shadows.)


features so far
1.perfect catterpillar system
2.really awesome looking menu that monitors your location, exp, hp, mp, etc...
3.75 definet abilities and skills going to be used.
4.many sub quests.
5.a world map for rmxp (sorry, its for rmxp)
6.battle tower: battler your way up 100 floors of monster killing action.

heres the concept of my title (not finished yet)

ill give the character descriptions in the next post.

1.Fire - Magical Fire damge
2.Blizzard - Magical Ice Damage
3.Thunder - Magical Thunder Damage
Starting weapon: Palm gem of lucrasacity
Personality: Serious and Wise


Lisseti
Gender: Female
Class: ???
Starting Tactics:
1. Darkness - Blind an enemy
2. Drain - Drain enemy hp
3. Demi - Magical Gravity damage
4. Confuse - Invoke confuse on an enemy
Starting weapon - Unseen anti voice
Personality: Untalkative but Persuasive

Btw, you know your title screen is a pic from Donkey Country 3 for the Super Nintendo, right?

youre correct  :D , i ripped it and erased the sprites, making the crystals all dark and eerie.

update: I have finished animating Losin's sword attacks, now for the wing attacks.

by the way, in the end the map will be the battle back ground.

Heres my CMS in action.

what it also does, when your tranferring into differant submenus or in and out of the main menu, the opton windows push eachother away.

UPDATE: i have made an extreme progression in the game... still no one replies... oh well... at least all the posting im making isnt spamming or flaming, or bumping.

UPDATE: I have a theme song for lisseti... its called, about her by malcolm mclaren... i got it off a kill bill volume 2 ost i hired from the library.
It plays in 1 of her battles and other times throughout the game...

UPDATE: kardin played a little miniscule of the demo yesturday... i think i need to hype up the story a little bit, he only said the music was good...

UPDATE: The story is now awesome (in my eyes and my friends eyes anyway), i have gotten lisseti mysteriously introduced into the game,

Lisseti's Role: She is a partially insane woman who rushes into the demonic dimension and kills whatever living object in there.
Before the events of her crossing into her insanity, she worked as a impath, able to predict the future and read minds.

you first meet her while Losin is about to tell Jennifer what "NODES" (im not telling you either) are for... Lisseti mistakes them for demons and attacks them.

Lisseti plays a deep role in the game, complimenting to Jennifer's unknown past.

Update: no one is replying... so im intending no one likes this so far.

Update: Theres about 40 minutes of gaming so far, this is by far the longest project i have ever worked on, and it is flowing smoothly.

Update: Dyusec has now been introduced into my games story.

Dyusec's Role: He plays a worshipper of Akuma and Yasha, very neglected in this certain world where the game takes place.

Dyusecs cult is placed into the Demonic realm, and though his cult worshipps the 2 most near invincible demons, he destroys any lesser demons that intrude on his cults territory.

When you confront him, he'll summon a monster, thinking that you (Losin) are there to lay harm to Jennifer (Dyusecs friend from past adventures).
A chanting extremest, casts spells like theres no tomorow, a need in your party, you will be up against elementals when you meet him... very obvious tactics here, a lengthy battle.

Update: mhmm, another unreplied update... a little thing about the gameplay that im trying to get.

Gameplay battle style: Conditional turned based (a.k.a. default)

Gameplay overworld style: Heavy exploration alowwing you to freely walk the world (still doesnt have a name), some areas that are there will be rejected by Losins current likeings (eg. doomed wasteland area contains powerful monsters) ... so if he feels he and his friends cant dispatch of a monster... well that is that.

Gameplay dungeon style: a series of small rooms, 1 room in every overworld dungeon will have a maze to pass through... run to the end... kill the boss, defuse the trapped treasure chests on the way.

Gameplay underworld style: run to the end of a treacherous trapped maze destroy the node and get out of there, destroying nodes can minus the near limitless powers of Akuma and Yasha.

Gameplay sounds: rtp mostly... sad really.

Gameplay sounds (Jennifers skills): as jennifer is a singer, it only be wise she have vocal attacks... many snippets from songs... sounds okay.

Gameplay music: My choosing, ive screwed over the piano compasitions because my piano is broke.

Gameplay Battle music: My choosing, old school action and tecchy action.

Gameplay music (themes): Some solemn ones and some really over the top ones (lisseti's theme)... my chosing.

Gameplay gameplay: the overall, so far its smooth and well... but you can judge when i send the demo... pm me if you wanna wait in line.

UPDATE: I have some entrancing background sounds that im using for my game.

My sources: the data files in morrowind have some excellent ambient sounds and sound effects.

screens are still in there rtp undetailes phase.

please dont abandon this game and let me hear your feedback.
