Wheel of Time--My rpg
« on: August 05, 2005, 02:28:31 PM »
The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to Myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy when the World and Time themselves hang in the balance, a wind rises in the mountains of mist.

The Dark One is stirring in Shayol Ghul.
It is time for the prophecies to be fufilled.

I will not give the main story away, and if you have read the books, please do not either.

The game will have many characters, some playable, some not.

It will be like Lord of the Rings: the Third Age, in the way so that when you play, you can do many quests, change your party, and do many other things, as well as play through one main underlying story, following the people from the real book and helping them. However, in this way, there will be characters in this game that were not in the book.

This game is made with rpg maker 2003. Screenshots and Demo coming soon.

I got about 500 pages into the first book, but after two years of reading (I don't read much) I gave up on it. I think it would make a good  game, but you should at least tell how the game starts off, it won't spoil anything.

Just don't tell us the prolouge from the first book, after reading that, it just spoiled the rest of it. Just don't give out any information on who Rand really is. (is the main dude named Rand?)

Well, I decided not to make the game follow the main characters from the story. I decided to make it more of an rpg of the world, where you can go on different quests, build your party, learn skills, etc. However, as your party progresses, you can fight with people from the original story, and follow their quest too. as well as many other things related to the main story, like joining a nation, etc.  Ever played Lord of the Rings: the Third Age? It will be like that. A lot of the main people will be in the story, but the game follows a different group of adventurers.

Hmm...I would suggest making the character styles fit together, since I don't really think Minish Cap style matches RTP style. But of course, that's just my opinion.

I usually don't like saying this, but that map is horrible. Its very empty and plain, you have to add more stuff to it, and make the ground a bit differant than just green. Add some tall grass, some dirt, plants, rocks, and that sort of stuff. Also be sure to add a tree or two.

Oh, yes, that too. It could indeed use some more stuff on it.

Otherwise, I suggest you keep going on the project, no matter who'd complain. (not that I'm sure anybody would complain though..)
