Now, I won't point out the blatant phallic agenda of the character designer - no, I'm above that.  Cloud has a gigantic sword because in the ever-changing microcosm that is the gaming world, at that time if he didn't have a weapon that weighed at least half of what he did, the Final Fantasy series would have slipped into (rightful, if you ask me) obscurity.  At least that's my predictions, if Final Fantasy went with a more realistic approach to - hell - the entire game.  Everyone would be armed with guns, Sephiroth wouldn't be roaming the landscape one step ahead of you doing pseudo-impressive acts of violence along the way, and all over the game would be a better experience.  THAT is why Cloud's Buster Sword is huge.

What's wrong with you?
