The Last Dream: The Prophecy Of The Old Time
« on: April 14, 2006, 07:57:11 PM »
Hi, My name's Francesco and I come from Italy.

I often use Charas-Project, I love the generators, so massive thanks to the webmaster! :jumpin:

I'm here for present you my project, "The Last Dream: The Prophecy Of The Old Time" (the original title is "The Last Dream: La Profezia Della Vecchia Era".

Kind: RPG
Author: Demon
Tool: ASCII RPGMaker 2000 v4.0
Laneguage: Italian, English (after a month or two from the Italian relase)
Relase: Q2 2006

Storyline
We're in 4006, 1500 after the Third World War, but the world isn't like in our time. The Thirld World War has destroyed all the countries and just a little humans are survivors. Then the progress is started newly and the world are constructing slowly. But we're 1500 years after the destruction and since books of history don't exist, the story of the world has been handed by testimonies and it has been transformed into a legend.

So new people believes that an "Old Time" don't exist. They know nothing about God and Satan, but the protagonist is possessed by a demon, but he don't know about it.

I stop here about the storyline, because "The Last Dream" is a RPG and so the storyline is a fundamental feautre.

Here's some screenshots of the principal map of the game (Treeville).

Don't worry; you're perfectly understandable :D

Is that a day and night system I see? I love those kinds of things, so if you're adding one 'tis a good idea.

The maps themselves are fair, but a bit bare to be perfectly honest with you. They're definitely not "n00b maps" but not quite amazing maps either, you know?

There's not enough of the storyline written here to make a proper judgement, but what you have posted seems fairly original. Having the main character possessed by a demon is a little bit on the cliche side, but there are so many ways of presenting this so that it isn't so cliche.

So yeah, keep posting information!

I personally like the story, and I've barely seen any games where the hero is possessed by a demon.
I look foward to more stuffz and thingz.

The map in the screenshots is incomplete, I've to add other things, like the characters and all the feautre that can render it  a real Role-playing game. Then I've to make other maps, like the forest, the cemetary, etc.

In the game are teh "Quests Point" (QP) and when the player earns 160 QP, he finishes the game at 100%.
I've added main quests and some optional quests, totally are:

10 chapters (storyline) (1 = 10 QP)
4 jobs (stoyline) (1 = 5 QP)
5 missions (optional) (1 = 5 QP)
15 special objects to find (optional) (1 = 1 QP)

Beyond day and night, there are dawn and sunset also.

Thank you for posting your judgments, I will go back soon! ;)

I agree with Raen- the game doesn't sound bad, so now's the time to show us battle screens, characters and stuff so we can judge just how good it's going to be.

Right! I will post battle screens and characters soon!

Another info: The Battle System is in real time with a sword. It can become more powerful thanks to four levels. The sword will increase levels during the storyline.

The swords are:

Sword L1: Simple sword
Sword L2: Heavy sword
Sword L3: Fast sword
Sword L4: Magical sword (you can defeat souls with it)

There's the battle system. It' a BS in real time, but to kill an enemy isn't easy!

hm... the graphics may not be the greatest, but I could deal with that if it's actually fun to play.

Yep, the graphic isn't greatest, but I use RPGMaker since a year nearly, so I prefer to cure the quests and the storyline so I can render this game very funny.

When I'll make "The Last Dream II", I'll cure the graphic very well (I hope... :D)

No, I don't, but I've adapted some same objects (like the trees) to all the chipsets. ;)
