The Quest
« on: May 21, 2006, 09:52:19 PM »
For the last few months, I've been busy with the Quest, just another Rpg for the Rpgmaker.

I started way before I knew these forums, so, I am using some presets that is ;) But still!

Alright, here's the story:

Story:

What they were doing there, they don't know, but all they knew was they had lost everything, even their memories. 4 Young people found theirselves in a mysterious house. All 4 didn't know anything of their past.
When the 4 met, they decided to go for some investegation, just to see what lied more in the house. In the very front of the house, they found 2 letters. And one of them included also some pictures. Pictures of them.
As they started to read the letter, they found out that the one who had taken aaway their memories, had put them on a quest. They had to bring the other letter to the black house in the East. It didn't state why, it only said they had to do it.
Furthermore, there were 4 pictures with each one of them on it. The only thing this mysterious person gave them, was their names.

They had to go all 4, as a group, to find out what's going on. They found out quickly enough, they were far away from human life. Yes, they were in the middle of no where, on some big mountain.
But soon they discovered they had powers of their own. Their only chance of survival.

Fiends were everywhere, and they came in large numbers. But not only the fiends were bothering them, also their memories... Where ever they go, they found a piece of theirself, what they were in the past, why they were in the past.
And then there's that garden. That peacefull garden, led by the one called 'Guru'. What was that place? And why is this 'Guru' helping them?

And... Why did they had to take this quest... ?

Characters:
Celene:
A young lady, born leader, and strong of will. As the quest started, she learned her skills of weilding a sword. Always ready to take care of another, when they need her help.

Eiki:
The youngest of the group, always nice to another, but easily scared of everything around her. However everything seems to depressing, she always tries to bring a light in the darkness, shining up ahead. Her skills are also aiding others. Just like a light, in the darkness.

Miro:
However he does feel uncomfortable with the situation, he's a courageous young man, ready to fight whenever it's needed. He's basically a melee fighter, but there's something more about him, that makes him different then the normal fighter.

Irion:
'Silent waters have deep grounds'. However he doens't speak much, he is a wise man. He knows a lot about some of the fiends out there, even though he doesn't know how he knows it.

Guru:
The mysterious man who knows a lot about everything. He gived the party directions to the East, and tells them where to go. Furthermore, he's the one who sells their items, they need on their quest. However he's always nice to him, what part does he play in the story? Is he the one who...? Or...?

About the Game:

As you might have guessed, it's basically a long round to the ending destination. A long road with a lot of struggling. The only place you ever return to, is the mysterious garden. The places you've left behind, won't be visited anymore. At least, most of them aren't.
There are 4 story's hidden, in the game. Every character has a complete past for the player to be figured out. but you can only reveal one story a game.

Okay, that sounds stupid, replaying the exact game for 4 times, so I didn't only add 4 story's, but also 4 complete roads to your ending destination. Every way has his own mysteries, and every way is holding his own secret.

Oh I love mysteries :p

Yeah, and then's that garden.
According to the Guru, it has been made 10000 years ago. The enviroment there is also the same as 10000 years ago. In the garden, you won't only find peace and the guru, but also other persons. Most of them know a lot about the world, or the fiends. But others know quite much about the past of the garden.
5 Crystals once protected the garden versus all evil. But they all shattered, and were spread over the whole world. It seemed every shard contained a power magic attack, which can be used in battle as well. But then again, after seeing a 'flashback' of the past, the crystals suddenly seemed more important then they ought to be..

Alright, I guess this is all you need to know about it. I've got a demo ready, 2 - 3 hours to play. Only showing 1 part of the story now btw, but still!

And screenies... Well, I'll add them tomorrow or something, I'm little tired now atm, so yeah.

Let me know whether you like the stuff or not XD :jumpin:

Don't worry it's not what you're thinking it is ;) It's not like saving the world by saving crystals or whatever.
But you can see it as an addon to the gameplay.

I doubt it's going to play that much of the game but w/e

Hi I'm a Final Fantasy Fanboy and I saw your screenshots on your website. While they look a little open, you at least have potential.

Don't worry about the storyline. Just put a lot of detail into it and it will come out good.

The real reason I posted was for the Chocobo. Can I please have that charset? I used to have it but it was eaten by a worm a couple of months ago.

Hey n__n

Are you sure it's this "The Quest?" I did posted it somewhere else, but I didn't use any Chocobo Charsets with it.

Nonetheless, I do have a Chocobo charset for you, I attached it to this reply :)
note:"It also contains a few dead people, but those were already in the file, so yeah ¬_¬

Enjoy n__n

My bad. I DID go to a different forum for that.

I did read what you had to offer and I DID LIKE YOUR STORYLINE. I think I had two separate pages in front of me or something. I apologize. Maybe when you post some screens I can then give you an honest comment.
